Besides
those who died, another 335 members of the Unit were repatriated to
Newfoundland due to injuries or illness. They travelled in small groups
on 47 crossings between the 20th of April, 1940 and the 29th of April,
1946. The S.S. Drottningholm of the Swedish-American Line played a prominent
role in these transatlantic journeys, crossing may times with Newfoundland
and Canadian service personnel.
