BRETT, Herbert Donald - Passed away at his residence on Monday, August 27, 2007, Herbert Brett of Arnold's Cove, aged 67 years. Predeceased by his parents, Donald and Ethel Brett. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Iris of 44 years; sons, Adam, Petawawa, ON and Scott (fiancee, Pamela Martin), Brampton, ON; daughter, Aimee Brett, Brampton, ON; grandson, Alexander; brottier, Fred (Verna), Arnold's Cove; Aunt Louise Bishop, St. John's, nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral service held Thursday, August 30, 2007 from First United Church, Arnold's Cove with interment at Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove. In his memory donations may be made to First United Church, Arnold's Cove.

GOLDSWORTHY, Mildred - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 Mildred Goldsworthy of Clarenville aged 84 years. Predeceased by her husband, Reginald; daughter, Ruby Riche and sister, Mable Piercey. Left with fond and loving memories her children, Herb (Lorraine) of Clarenville, Peggy MacDonald of Clarenville, Judy Green (Geoff) of Clarenville; son-in-law, Len Riche of Grand Falls-Windsor; sister-in-law, Frances Morris of St. John's; 10 grandchildren, Christal (Derrick) Palmer, Dana (Bruce) Price, Heather (Russell) Brown, Neil (Lorraine) Goldsworthy, Roxanne (Chris) Bailey, Tony Blackmore, Nancy (Neil) Hossack, Susan (Chris) Pass, Gail (Roger) Briffett, Adam (Neva Fudge) Green; greatgrandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Natasha, Stephanie, Kayla, Rebecca, Daniel, Kennedy, Ben, Sam, Willow, Josh, Erin, Brandon, Naya and a large circle of relatives and friends. Remains rested at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Sunday, August 26 from St. Mary's Anglican Church in Clarenville with interment to follow at the Interdenominational Cemetery in Clarenville. In her memory, donations may be made to ALS.

DRODGE, Norman - Passed peacefully away after a short battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Saturday, August 25, 2007, Norman Drodge of Clarenville, aged 84 years. Predeceased by daughter, Lydia Jane; sisters, Vera, Joyce and Sadie; step brothers, Eldon and Alfred. Left to mourn his loving wife and best friend, Virtue of 63 years; son, Tom (Dulcie); daughters, Myra Moore (Wendell), Doreen Erbland (Mardon), Florence Bailey (Burley), Dolores Mutton (Eric) and Dianne Lockyer (Ward); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Miriam King and Dorothy Stagg. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held on Monday, August 27, 2007 from the Pentecostal Tabernacle, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. In his memory donations may be made to the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville -Cancer Fund.

MANUEL, Clara - Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Hospital on Friday, July 27, 2007, Clara Manuel of Catalina, aged 93 years. Predeceased by husband, Herbert John (Jack), September 14, 1978. Leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Strathies Funeral Home, Catalina. Funeral service held on Monday, July 30, 2007 from St. Peter's Anglican Church, Catalina with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Catalina.

BAGGS, Martha Jane - Passed peacefully away on August 28, 2007 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Martha Baggs at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her husband, William; son, Norman; brothers, William and Job; sisters, Rita and Annie Lou; parents, Edward and Rebecca Easton. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons, David (Marie), Edward (Violet) both of Clarenville, Randy (Wanda) of Steady Brook, Paul (Verna) of Grand Falls-Windsor and Sherwin (Jennifer) of Badger; daughters, Lorraine (William) Papineau of Pickering, ON, Lillian (Mark) of Seagrave, ON, Janet of Badger and Yvonne (Ken) of North Bay, ON; daughter-in-law, Diane of Clarenville. Also leaving to mourn sister, Barbara Rideout and brothers, Charles (Alvina) and Edward (Joyce); 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Circular Road with Captains Morris and Wanda Vincent officiating. Interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Union Street. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Association. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. WALTERS: Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on September 3, 2007, Theodore Walters, age 84. Predeceased by wife Jean and daughter Janet Ivany. Leaving to mourn children Daniel (Karen), Alonzo, Joseph (Judy), Alfred (Lisa), Barb (Randy), Robert (Nicole), and Bill (Jim); 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, son-in-law Garfield and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. GLADNEY, Lawrence, (Member of Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit and Royal Canadian Legion, Clarenville Branch #27) -Passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, September 13, 2007, Larry Gladney of Clarenville, age 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Jean of 65 years; daughters, Sheena MacKinnon (Ken Hauschildt), Dartmouth, NS, Anne Jenkins, Eastport and Eleanor Ladham (Shaun), Saskatoon, SK; son, Robert (Janice), Riverview, NB; seven grandchildren, Susan, Jennifer, Evan, Brent, Ian, Justin and Erica; great-grandchildren, Emilio, Ethan, Marina, Matthew, Noah and Nicholas and a large circle of family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation took place at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville on Saturday, September 15, 2007. Memorial service was held Sunday, September 16, 2007 from Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville with interment at United Cemetery, Church Hill. MEADUS, Howard Thomas - Passed away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Friday, September 7, 2007, Howard Thomas Meadus who resided in Grande Prairie, AB, aged 51 years. Predeceased by mother Martha Jane King; father Herbert John Meadus; brothers Chesley Lloyd Meadus and Herbert Meadus. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 4 1/2 years, iryna; daughters Tenille (Lee Stringer) Clarenville, and Cornellia (Greg Seward), Little Heart's Ease; son Caleb (Niki Wade), Grande Prairie, AB; sisters Vera (Clifford Seward), Audrey (Gilbert King) and Dallas (George Brown), all of St. Jones Within; brothers Hector (Valma), St. Jones Within, Clyde (Katherine), Butter Cove and Randell (Sylvia), Gooseberry Cove; grandchildren Liam Stringer, Hunter and Summer Seward and a circle of family and friends. Howard was a great carpenter, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all especially his wife Iryna. CRITCH: Surrounded by his loving family, Arthur Benjamin (Ben) Critch, age 83, from Hillview, passed away at the Health Science Center in St. John's on Sept. 12, 2007. Predeceased by parents, George and Alice; sister Flora and his sons, Graham and Ricky. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife, Juanita (55 years); sons Wade (Theresa) and Barry (Bonita); daughters Sylvia (Winston Brown), Madonna (Randy Gosse), Denise (Edgar Brown), Thelma (Scott Ivany), Lucy (Scott Hunsley) and Wanda (Paul Njolstad); 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at St. Michaels Anglican Church, Hillview from where the funeral service took place on Sunday, September 16, 2007 with cremation following. Predeceased by wife Dollie; son Billy and grandson David Ploughman. Left with fond and loving memories his daughters; Edna Ploughman (Bob), Verna Pelley (Brian) and Velma Percy (Roy); sons David (Juanita), Don (Audrey Ann) and Charlie; daughter-in- law Betty Osmond; special friend Dolly Peddle; special sister Barbara Warren; sister Florence Tuck (Baxter); brothers Alex Clench (Ruby) and Ed Clench (Phyllis); 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends.
