Where to find genealogical information in Newfoundland
and
in some areas,
how to obtain the material from them
by Barbara McGrath
Harbour Main District Coordinator
Newfoundland Grand Banks
Fellow Researchers:
This following information is from experience, as a professional researcher, here in Newfoundland. It provides what one should do and where one can go to find information on their elusive ancestors, especially in cases where church records are no longer available due to fires, shipwrecks or that they have gone missing and no one seems to know where.
I certainly hope it helps the new researcher just starting out as well as the seasoned one, such as myself.
