ELLIOTT, Fannie M. - Of Newman`s Cove. Passed peacefully away on Friday, July 25, 2003, at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Donald in 1996. Leaving to mourn with loving memories daughter Rowena (Roland) Taylor of Port Rexton; six sons: Lloyd (Melvina), Melvin (Lois), Otto (Paula), Donald Jr. (Gloria), all of Newman`s Cove, Harry (Maxine) of Mount Pearl and Wes Reid of St. John`s; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Selina Elliott of Mount Pearl. Resting at the United Church in Newman`s Cove. Funeral Services Monday, July 28, 2003, at 2 p.m. Interment at the UC Cemetery in Newman`s Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory to the United Church of Newman`s Cove.

FORSEY, Eleanor - Passed away at St. Clare`s Mercy Hospital, St. John`s on Thursday, November 13, 2003, Eleanor (Stoodley) Forsey of Fortune, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband Walter, 1994. Leaving to mourn daughters: Louise Pittman (Keith) at Shoal Harbour, Carole Hillier (Aubrey) at Fortune; grandchildren: Gregory and Dianne Pittman, Gary and Maria Hillier; also great-grandchildren: Emily and Elaina Pittman and Aaron Hillier; sister Louise Stoodley at Fortune; brothers: Roy Stoodley (Emily) at Grand Falls and Max Stoodley (Jean) at Dunville. Remains resting at Warren`s Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Friday and Saturday. Funeral Service will take place at the Grand Bank United Church on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Grand Bank. FOST, Sarah Lily (Sadie) nee Worthman - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, April 17, 2003, Sarah (Sadie) Fost of Heart`s Delight, aged 77 years. Predeceased by parents Wilson and Adelaide Worthman, sisters Dorothy and Annie. Lovingly remembered by husband Hedley, 11 daughters: Sylvia (John) White; Marilyn (Len) Edison; Barbara (Howard) Roberts; Carol (Harold Cranford); Peggy (Ken) Kulp; Debbie (Dave) Porter; Brenda (Linsay) Harnum; Linda (Gordon) Pollett; Heather (Kenneth) Jackson; Wanda (Lee) Fost-O`Keefe; Rosalind (Derrick Snow); two sons, Dennis (Daisy); Lorne (Lori). 20 grandchildren; Christopher, Allison, Jennifer, Kevin, Krista, Joanne, Jason, Jody, Garrett, Daniel, Julianne, Christina, Jillian, Samantha, Jonathan, Daniel, Chad, Mitchell, Shane, Jordan and great-grandchild Devon. Sisters Myrtis Kelloway, Clare Hiscock; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the SUF Lodge, Heart`s Delight from Friday, April 18 at 2 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from St. Matthew`s Anglican Church on Sunday, April 20 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Matthews`s Anglican Cemetery. GARLAND, George Martin - May 24, 1930 - February 10, 2003. Passed away suddenly at his home, New Harbour, on Monday, February 10, 2003, George Garland, aged 72 years. Leaving to mourn six children: Cora (Marshall), Glenn (Diana), Doreen (Kevin), Lorna (Brent), Chesley (Debbie), Elsie (Stephen); thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Louise Garland, Lucy Garland; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren`s Funeral Home, Dildo. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12 at 3:30 p.m. from St. Augustine`s Church, New Harbour. Interment to follow at St. John`s United Church Cemetery, New Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Leaving to mourn special niece, Dorothy Button (William) and their children: Kim Boddaent (Warren), Brian Button (Karen), Toronto, ON; three nephews: Ray Ash (Ethel), Hayward Ash (Agnes), Carbonear, Allison Ash (Jackie), Arden, ON; two nieces: Rosalind Church (Spencer), Janic Walsh (George); sister-in-law Annie Goodwin; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Green`s Funeral Home, Winterton. Visiting hours Thursday 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday visitation will take place at St. Stephens United Church, New Melbourne from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with interment in St. Stephens United Church Cemetery. GOODYEAR, John - John Goodyear of Harcourt, NL, (a veteran of Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 27 Clarenville and a member of Masonic Craft) passed away peacefully to join his beloved wife, May, on Saturday, October 4, 2003, aged 86 years. Predeceased by all his sisters and brothers. Survived by sisters-in-law Minnie Goodyear (Art) and Madelene Morris, and cousin Ross Goodyear. He will be sadly missed by his children Shirley (Bill) Jablonski, Janice (Tom) Pass, Wendy (Ted) Topping, John B. Goodyear; grandchildren Keir Humble, Lesley (Chad) Harris, Michael, Kevin and Bethany Topping, Christine and Sarah Goodyear, and many nieces and nephews. Remains will be resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitations on Monday, October 6, 2003 at 2 p.m. Funeral will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at Bethany United Church with interment at the United Church Cemetery in Harcourt. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

GOODYEAR, May (Bannister) - of Harcourt, NL, formerly of Toronto, ON, beloved wife and best friend for 54 years of John Goodyear, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Saturday, July 12, 2003, age 81 years. She will be sadly missed by her children: Shirley (Bill) Jablonski; Janice (Tom) Paas; Wendy (Ted) Topping; John B. Goodyear; grandchildren: Keir Humble; Lesley (Chad) Harris, Michael, Kevin and Bethany Topping, Christine and Sarah Goodyear; sisters Madelene Morris and the late Lorraine Bailey. Viewing to take place on Monday, July 14, 2003 in the afternoon at Fewer`s Funeral Home in Clarenville. Funeral to take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Bethany United Church in Harcourt with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery in Harcourt. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

GOSSE, John S.R. - February 13, 1942 - November 13, 2003. Passed away at the Leonard A. Miller Centre, November 13, 2003, John Gosse in his 61st year. Predeceased by parents John and Beatrice Gosse; sister Elsie Hendricks and daughter Catherine White. Left with loving memories and giving thanks for a wonderful life are his wife Mary; daughter Susan (Dean) George; sons: John (Florence), Peter (Tracy) and son-in-law Ben White. Precious grandchildren: Gregory and Jeffery White, Emily and Megan George and Leah Gosse; brothers: Chesley, Frank (Martha), Eddie, Edgar (Verna) and Sidney; sisters: Roberta Buck, Ivy (George) Robbins, Margaret (Robert) King, Linda Gosse and Thelma (Denny) Christian; brother-in-law Ted Hendricks and sister-in-law Rosamond Jarvis; and a large number of nieces and nephews, as well as many other special friends and relatives. Resting at Holloway`s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Visitation Saturday, November 15th, 2:00 - 10:00 p.m.; Sunday, November 16th 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. and Monday, November 17th, 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. GRACE, Josephine (Hicks) - Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Hospital on June 17, 2003, age 88 years. Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Albert, May 07, 1990. Leaving to mourn with loving and cherished memories are her son John, wife Noreen and grandchildren Gillian, David, Catherine and Tara; daughter Barbara, husband Douglas Hawes and granddaughter Katie; and daughter Ann Marie. Also, her very dedicated and supportive niece (and caregivers), Shirley and husband Ross Barney, their daughter Kim (Jim), operators of Shirley`s Haven, Catalina where she resided for the past 5 years. She also leaves to mourn many other dear relatives and friends. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Ann Squires (Guy), Winterton, Daphne Morton (David), St. John`s; grandchildren: Craig Welsh, Sean, Cheryl and Trent Squires; brother Frank (Essie), Winterton; two sisters: Nora Gillingham (Arch), Winterton, Clara Evely (Roy), Mount Pearl; brother-in-law Rufus Hutchings, Mount Pearl; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service to be held on Friday, September 26th, 2003 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew`s by the Sea Church, with interment to follow at United Church Cemetery, Old Perlican.

Leaving to mourn wife Elsie, son Michael (wife Kim), daughter Tina (friend Eric); five grandchildren; Ryan, Glen, Aaron, Michael and Jonathan, whom he loved dearly; stepmother Cora Green of Grand Falls-Windsor; brothers Winston (wife Ruby), Douglas (wife Lorna), both of Grand Falls-Windsor; sisters Elizabeth (Lizzie) (husband Hayward Seaward) of Clarenville, Daphne (husband Frank Simms) of Scarborough, Ont., Margaret (husband Wayne Budgell) of Triton, NL; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Yvonne Crocker conducted funeral services from Grates Cove United Church on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 2 p.m. Interment at United Church Cemetery, Winterton, NL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hopkins Funeral Home, Old Perlican. Pallbearers were Tom Lambert, Bob Lambert, Don Lambert, Bram Lambert, Bill Butt (brothers-in-law) and Walter Sparkes and Lloyd Follett (special friends).

GREENE, Rupert J. - Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick`s Mercy Home on Wednesday, January 08, 2003 in the presence of his loving family. Leaving to mourn with fond memories his loving wife Agnes; his daughter Marcy and son Gerry (Marilyn) of Clarenville; two grandsons: Gerard and Paddy Greene; one brother Milton; sisters-in-law: Mary Rockwell and Marie Whelan; brothers-in-law Ronald Whelan (Betty Lou) and George Whelan (Gloria); as well as many devoted nieces, nephews and dear friends. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Pius X Church. Cremation to follow. Private interment to take place at a later date. The family extends gratitude for the professional and tender care given to Rupert and his family during his stay at St. Pat`s. Resting at Holloway`s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Funeral Mass to take place Saturday, February 15, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Whitbourne.
