LAMBERT, Sarah Jane - Passed away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, June 21, 2002, Sarah Jane Lambert of Hatchet Cove, aged 96 years. Predeceased by her husband Malcolm, and son Nelson. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters, Susie (John Duffett), Catalina, Geneva (David Tucker), St. Jones Within; sons, Wesley (Loretta) and Alex (Selina) of Hatchet Cove; fifteen grandchildren; number of great-grandchildren; and number of great-great-grandchildren; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains will be resting at Anglican Church in Hatchet Cove. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2002 at the Anglican Church, Hatchet Cove with interment at Anglican Cemetery in Hatchet Cove. LANGER, Trevor - Passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2002, Trevor Edward Morley Langer of Carrollton, Texas, formerly of Clarenville, aged 26 years, 10 months. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Gina (nee Wiseman); parents: Ed and Dianne Langer (nee Stone), Clarenville; brother Bradley, Clarenville; grandfather Capt. Morley Stone, Monroe, and a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville. Service conducted by Captains Maurice and Marilyn Blackler and Majors Roy and Sandy Langer. Interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery. In his memory, donations may be made to the Heart Research Foundation (ARVD Research).

LANGER, William Edward - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital after a lengthy illness on Monday, January 7, 2002, William Langer of Green's Harbour, aged 71 years. Predeceased by parents George and Beatrice; sister Sarah and brother Albert. Leaving to mourn wife Leona; son Ellis (Linda); grandchildren: Glen (Lorna), Clyde (Melanie), Tina (Jason); great-grandchildren: Jonah, Jenna, Emma, Cody and Zachary; brother Samuel (Myrtle); sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Jerrett, Elsie Strong, Mildred Walters, Rowena Brace (James), Pearl Pitcher (Robert) and Bertha Hoskins; brothers-in-law: Edward Hoskins (Isabelle), Gordon Pitcher (Doreen), Jim Donovan (Helen); two nieces: Wanda and Effie; nephew Robert; a number of other relatives and many friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Green's Harbour from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Left with fond and loving memories, her husband of 66 yeas, Gordon; son Hayward (Ruby), Cavendish; daughters Hazel (David Legge), Cavendish; Emily (Vincent Rodgers), Paradise; Ruby (Ronald Strickland), Cavendish; and special daughter, Rosalind, Cavendish; nine grandchildren, Geoff, Brian, Janice, Karen, Wayne, Shawn, Bobby, Gary and Dwayne; eight precious great-grandchildren, Adam, Cory, Emily, David, Jack, Jessica, Catherine and Sarah; sister-in-law Emmie Bryant, Heart's Content; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. LEGROW, Albert - Passed peacefully away on January 15, 2002 at the Agnes Pratt Home, Albert LeGrow, age 91 years, formerly of Bauline. Predeceased by his wife, Mamie, in 1989 and son-in-law, Boyd Sullivan, in 1981. Leaving to mourn with many treasured memories, his only child, Norma Sullivan; his nine grandchildren: Judy (Chris) Strugnell, Jeanette (Tom) Hollett, Sonia (Wayne) Percy, Miriam (Wayne) Moore, Bonnie (David) Sheppard, Keith Sullivan, Valerie (Jeff Sellars), Eugene (Sharon) Sullivan and Rodney (Natasha Pinsent) Sullivan; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Matthew LeGrow (Violet), St. John's and Reginald LeGrow (Effie), Marystown; 3 sisters: Blanche Sheppard, Clarenville, Mae LeGrow, Bauline and Kathleen (Frank Flight), Florida; special friends: Ed Skanes, St. John's and Gilbert Button at the Agnes Pratt Home; many more relatives and friends at Bauline and friends and caregivers at the Agnes Pratt Home. Mr. LeGrow was a lay reader at the Bauline United Church for over 30 years and a member of the Church Choir. He was a life member of the Loyal Orange Association and the Black Preceptory. PICKETT, Martha Gaye - Passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 23, 2002 in her eighty-seventh year. She was born in Lumsden, spent her childhood in Port Union and lived as a teenager in Worcester, Massachusetts, before returning to Newfoundland. Martha worked for the Federal Government for thirty years as a postal clerk in Bishop's Falls where her husband, Leroy Pickett, served as postmaster. Upon her retirement, she was awarded an honourary life membership in the Postal Heritage Club for her contributions to the postal union. She served, too, on the School Board for the Bishop's Falls Amalgamated School. She especially liked to garden and travel. Martha was a gifted homemaker - vivacious, loving and a joy to be with. Leaving to mourn: her adoring daughter and only child, Sandra (Gunter) Kromm of St. John's; grandchildren Andrea and Eric Penney; two sisters: Lee (Cyril) Harmon of Boston and Nancy (Leslie) Baker of Port Rexton. PYNN, Samuel James - Feb. 17, 1917-July 20, 2002. Passed away suddenly at his home in New Chelsea in the presence of Mahallah his beloved wife of 62 years, Samuel Pynn age 85 years. Predeceased by son Lawrence, 1973; great-granddaughter Hannah Stuckless, 2001 and sister Mary, 1942.
