NOTE: Licenses of Occupation were issued for a five year period, at the end of this time a grant in fee was issued to the occupier if the conditions of the license had been complied with. The registers in which these Grants were recorded - Free Grants, Volume 1 and Free Grants Volume 2 - were distroyed in the Great Fire of 1892.
