ELLIS, Robert Sr. - Passed away after a short illness at the Hr. Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Monday, August 21, 2006, Robert Ellis of Hant's Hr., age 78 years. Leaving to mourn his wife of 53 years Laura, Hr. Lodge Nursing Home and their children: Joan (Eugene Pryor), Hant's Hr., Linda (George Piercey), Robert Jr. (Sheila) all of Bonnyville, Alberta, Jeanette (John Critch) and Craig (Kim), Hant's Hr. Four grandsons and eight granddaughters; sisters and brothers: Marjorie Cullen, St. John's, Harold (Verena), Hant's Hr., John (Jean), St. John's, Elizabeth Mercer, Blaketown, Edwin (Selena), Hant's Hr., Doris (William Harris), New Melbourne; sisters-in-law: Louise Tuck, Eleanor (Melvin Green), Annie (Hubert Ash), Lillian (Gerald Pynn) all of Hant's Hr. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton. Visiting hours Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Thursday 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Funeral service to take place at 2:00 pm from Calvary Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Hant's Hr. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society, The Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear or a charity of one's choice.

EVANS, Mary Ellen (nee Crewe) - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on February 21, 2006, Mary Ellen Evans, originally from Elliston, Trinity Bay, age 84 years. Predeceased by her brothers Sam Crewe and Tom Crewe. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 47 years, Stan Evans; daughters: Margaret Tilley (Alvin), Bernice Hillier (Frank) and Beverly Bennett (Colin); grandchildren: Allison, Evan, Lucas, Alissa, Kelsea and Liam; also sisters Maud Pearce, Emily Johnson; brother Fred Crewe, as well as many other relatives and friends. A special thanks to Superior Home Care and the staff of St. Clare's Hospital for their compassion. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, February 24th, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. from St. Teresa's Church. GATEHOUSE, Bert - Passed away suddenly at Bonavista Hospital, Bert Gatehouse of Port Union, formerly of Seldom, June 18, 2006. Leaving to mourn with precious memories his wife: Cassie; daughter: Cindy Abbott (Wayne), Bonavista; son: Jason, Calgary; sisters: Viola Penney, Seldom, Eloise Peebles (Robert), Kimberley, B.C., Madelin Tilley (Ches), C.B.S., Christine Williams (Tom), Grand Prairie; brother: Lloyd (Myrtle), Lewisporte; grandchildren: Ashley (Rick), Shane, Amber, Brandon; great-grandson: Braden; sisters-in-law: Margaret Pitcher (Bramwell), Hopeall, Mary Moore (Allen), Burnt Point; special niece: Darlene Howell, Port Union; also many other nieces and nephews. GEORGE, Wilfred - Passed away at the L.A. Miller Center, on April 18, 2006, two days before his 67th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer, Wilfred George of Mt. Pearl, originally from Lower Lance Cove, Random Island. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Frances George. Leaving behind with loving memories are his wife of 42 years, Pearl (nee Bryant); son: Bradley (Kimberly); daughter: Nancy (Chris); grandchildren: Sarah, Hannah and Nathan George and Michael Tulipano; sisters: Hazel (Fred), Ivey (Charlie), Gertie (Bob), Ada (Wilfred), Dallas (John), Evelyn (Jesse) and Melvie; as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2006, from First United Church, Mt. Pearl. GREEN, Gerald - July 27, 1928 - July 25, 2006. Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, July 25, 2006, Gerald Green of Hant's Harbour age 77 years. Predeceased by parents Gilbert and Winnifred Green, mother and father-in-law Art and Gertie Strickland, brother Vincent, sisters-in-law Joan Strickland and Dorothy Stirton. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: wife Elizabeth, Hant's Harbour; son Boyd (Peggy), Midland, Ontario; grandchildren: Stephen, Sarah and Matthew; brothers-in-law: Clyde Strickland, John (Marie) Strickland and Art Strickland; sisters-in-law: Linda (Jim) Barbour and Alice Green; cousins Violet Gulliford, Fred Green and Gertie (Len) Pelley; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Green's Funeral Home, Winterton. Visitation from 2-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. daily. Funeral services on Saturday at 4 p.m. from Hant's Harbour United Church and Cemetery. GREEN, Hilda (nee Crocker) - September 14, 1914 - April 18, 2006. Passed peacefully away at her home on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, with her husband Harry, of 66 years by her side, Hilda Green of Green's Harbour, aged 91 years. Predeceased by parents, Eliza Jane and Charles Crocker; sister Gladys Skinner. Leaving to mourn with precious memories, husband Harry; brother (Alex Crocker), St. John's; nephew Charles (Dorothy) Crocker, Ontario and their family, Lori (Paddy) O'Keefe and Stephen Crocker; special family: Graham Rowe (Lottie), Joyce Piercey (Reg) and their families; also lovingly remembered by a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Faith United Church, Green's Harbour, Wednesday, April 19th, 7:00 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from Faith United Church on Friday, April 21st at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Faith United Church Cemetery.
