HANSFORD, Annie V. - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Saturday, September 26,1998, Annie V. Hansford of Clarenville, age 87 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are a circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitation 2 p.m.-10 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m.- 11 a.m. Monday. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Monday, September 28,1998 from Salvation Army Citadel, Hickman`s Harbour. Interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery, Hickman`s Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Hickman`s Harbour or a charity of one`s choice.

HANSFORD, Maisie - Passed peacefully away at Health Sciences Complex, Intensive Care Unit, St. John`s on Thursday, November 19, 1998, Maisie Hansford, aged 54 years. Predeceased by her mother Millie; two brothers and three sisters. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband Tom; two daughters: Kim at Calgary and Suzette at St. John`s; her father Joseph Anthony; six brothers: Lieut. Colonel Stan (Ruby), Charles (Bonnie), Keith (Trudy), Percy (Carol-Ann), Kevin (Karen) and Andy (Peggy); three sisters: Joan Wells (Harry), Helen Clarke (Arthur) and Verna Decker (Melvin); two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. - Noon on Sunday. Funeral service 2:30 P.M. Sunday, November 22, 1998 from Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville. Interment to follow at Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville.

HARNUM, Stewart - Passed away at the Health Sciences Complex on Friday, November 13, 1998, as the result of a tragic accident, Stewart Harnum of Dildo, aged 82 years. Leaving to mourn a large circle of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Resting at Warren`s Funeral Home, Dildo. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 15 from All Saints Anglican Church, Dildo at 2 p.m. Interment to follow Anglican Cemetery. Donations in his memory greatfully accepted to All Saints Church Cemetery Fund or a charity of ones choice.

HART, Bertha - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare`s Mercy Hospital, St. John`s on Sunday, May 24, 1998, Bertha Hart of Heart`s Content, age 64 years. Predeceased by husbands: Ralph Underhay, 1970 and Wilson Hart, 1985; and brother Ben Sooley. Leaving to mourn three sons: Eliol Sooley, St. John`s, Bruce (Darlene) Underhay and Dennis Underhay, both of Yellowknife, N.W.T.; seven grandchildren; one brother Robert (Thelma) Sooley, St. John`s; one sister Mariam (Gordon) Kean, St. John`s; and also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, St. John`s on Monday, May 25 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m.; Tuesday, May 26 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon, 2-5 p.m.; then resting at the Anglican Church, Heart`s Content Wednesday, May 27 from 10:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.; and Thursday, May 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from where the funeral will take place on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Heart`s Content. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Noel`s Funeral Home, Carbonear.

Leaving to mourn two daughters: Lena Dunne of St. John`s and Marie Norcott (William) of Clarenville; one sister Lillian Rose of St. John`s; ten grandchildren: Brenda Kent (Peter), St. John`s, Stephen Dunne (Sheila), Ottawa, ON, Kathy Cheeseman (Larry), St. John`s, Robert Dunne (Bernadette), St. John`s, Elizabeth Foran (Edward), St. John`s, Gerry Dunne (Debbie), St. John`s, Cora MacFadden (Ian), St. John`s, Paul Norcott (Gail), Elmira, ON, Neil Norcott (Jacqueline), Clarenville and Colleen Norcott (Calvin), Toronto, ON; 20 great grandchildren and a large circle of friends with two cherished and special friends Raymond and Mary Power, St. John`s. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home on Saturday 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Sunday 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. then at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Monday. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 30,1998 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Clarenville. Interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of one`s choice.

HIGDON, J. Elwood - Died tragically at Fort McMurray, Alberta on Saturday, August 8th, 1998, Elwood Higdon of Dildo, age 45 years. Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Margaret and brother Owen. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Ann (nee Wall); daughters Christina Moore (Jamie), Petrina (Jason), son Owen and granddaughter Taylor; three sisters: Jean Rowsell (Byrce), Ann Rowsell (Kevin), Stella White (Thomas); three brothers: Andrew (Cathy), Steve (Marj), Philip (Terri); also lovingly remembered by a large number of special relatives and friends. Resting at Warren`s Funeral Home, Dildo. The Funeral Mass will be held from St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Whitbourne on Sunday, August 16th at 3 p.m. Interment to follow R.C. Cemetery, Whitbourne.

Predeceased by her first husband, Robert Barker, in 1953. Lovingly remembered by her husband Patrick; daughters: Teresa and Wayne Toope and grandchildren Darlene and Stuart; Ellen and Dolph Abbott and granddaughter Meagan; Mary Barker; Eileen Pardy and granddaughters Renee and Kayla; special niece Pauline Hollohan; also a circle of relatives and friends. Resting at St. Anne`s Roman Catholic Church, Summerville. Funeral to take place on Thursday, September 24th, 1998 at 11:00 a.m.

HOLLOWAY, Isaac - Passed peacefully away at Lion`s Manor, Placentia, on March 8th, 1998, surrounded by family, Isaac Holloway, age 85 years of St. Jones Within. Leaving to mourn wife Aileen; four sons: Lester (Maureen), Bramalea, Ontario, Melvin in Hillview, Edison (Julie), Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, Edgar (Allison), St. John, New Brunswick; two daughters: Sandra (Lorne Tuck), Yvonne (Wilfred Meadus) of St. Jones Within; ten grandchildren. Two brothers: Edgar (Belinda), St. Jones Within, George (Joan), Long Pond; two sisters: Ida, Clarke`s Beach, Jane, Clarenville; numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Resting at Faith United Church, St. Jones Within from 2 p.m. Monday. Funeral at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11th. Donations maybe made to Memorial Fund, Faith United Church.

JACKSON, Ethel F. (nee Critch) - Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, July 24, 1998, Ethel Jackson of Cavendish, aged 88 years. Predeceased by husband Amos and brother Alex. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories three sons and two daughters. Marie James (Gerald), Gander, Edna Bennett (William), Corner Brook, Albert (Alma), Cavendish, Jacob (Eileen), Cavendish, Amos Jr. (Betty), Cavendish; step-daughter Violet Bishop, Cavendish; twenty-five grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren; one sister Rita Thoms (Stanley), Carbonear; two brothers: Hedley Critch (Winnie) and John Critch (Annie) of Cavendish; also lovingly remembered by a large number of other relatives and many friends. Resting at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Cavendish from where the funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow Anglican Cemetery, Cavendish. Donations in her memory may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren`s Funeral Home, Dildo.

Predeceased by his parents Richard and Doris Kelland, as well as brothers Augustus and Allen. Leaving to mourn loving wife Beatrice; three daughters, Jackie (Wayne) Lundrigan, Shilo, Man., Doris (Greg) Butt, Pouch Cove, and Loriann, at home; four special brothers, twin brother Max of Thunder Bay, Ont., Richard (Annie) of Marystown, Marven (Sharon) of Victoria, B.C., Ross (Maxine) of Moncton, N.B.; four special sisters, Marie Simmons (Eric) of Kilbride, Anita Burns of North Carolina, Joyce Granter (Terry) of Labrador City, Ruth Brown (Terry) of Trinity Bay; three loving grandchildren Zachary Lundrigan, Ryne Lundrigan and Justin Butt; sister-in-law Florence Chislett (Harrison) of Islington, Trinity Bay; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and a large circle of friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., Saturday 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Monday 10 a.m.-12 noon. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, May 11, 1998 from St. Michael`s Anglican Church with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. KING, Clayton - Passed peacefully away at his home in Paradise on Tuesday, April 28, 1998, Clayton King, age 72 years. Formerly of New Bonaventure, Trinity Bay. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Clara King; brother, George; and sister, Rosalie Mollins. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Linda (Bishop); daughters: Kathleen (Hubert) Rideout, Sharleen (Kurt) Pelow, Colleen (Dave) McQuillam, Tina (Craig) Cameron; son Shawn (Ann); grandchildren: Patricia, Sam, Linda, Andrew, Lindsay, Missy, Dana and Joshua, Hayley, Clayton and Cole; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Hazel (Ramon) Dilkie, Kathleen Smith; sisters-in-law: Melita Riggs, Sylvia (John) May; brother-in-law, Robin Bishop; also other relatives and friends. Resting at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews. Visiting hours 10-12, 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral to take place on Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at the Anglican Church, New Bonaventure. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, New Bonaventure. KING, Edgar Granville - Passed peacefully away, after a short illness, on August 27th, 1998, Edgar Granville King, WWII Veteran. Born at Deer Harbour, Trinity Bay. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Elsie, of 47 years; twin daughters: Grace King of New Minas, N.S. and Dr. Yvonne King (Burrell) and husband Gerry of Kentville, N.S.; grandchildren; only living sibling Rev. Eric King of Roswell, New Mexico; also a number of other relatives and friends. A private family funeral service was held at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. with interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
