ACREMAN, Hughlett B. - Age 73 of Mary`s Harbour, Labrador. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at the Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony on September 2, 1998. Lovingly remembered by his wife Madeline; two sons: David (Lydia), Baie Verte, Donald (Vina), St. Anthony; two daughters: Marion (Freeman), Clarenville, Brenda (Levi), Forteau; nine grandchildren: Karen (Florida), Darrell (Ont.), Jarvis (Alberta), Trevor (B.C.), Amanda and Christopher (Clarenville), Jamie (Alberta), Vanessa and Anil (Forteau); two great-grandchildren: Alicia and Hannah (Ont.); three sisters: Florrie Harnett (Comfort Cove), Eva Coish (Bert) (Mary`s Harbour), Violet Bradley (Goose Bay); one brother Gordon (Mary`s Harbour); two sisters-in-law: Mary Acreman (Mary`s Harbour), Vera Barbour (Nathan) (Wesleyville); two brothers-in-law: Bob Hewlett (St. John`s) and Claude Hewlett (Ont.) Also, a large circle of family and friends. Funeral took place from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Mary`s Harbour, Labrador, on September 5, 1998. Thankful for her life are daughter Marilyn and son-in-law John McGuire of Mount Pearl; beloved grandchildren: Anthony, Andrea and Adam; sister Marion, husband Douglas Hynes; and many other relatives and friends. Resting at Fewers Funeral Home, Clarenville, Thursday, December 17, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and Friday morning. Funeral at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18 at Milton-Georges Brook United Church, Milton. BENSON, Edith M. - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, Edith M. Benson of Hillview, aged 92 years. Predeceased by husband David in 1976. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are three daughters: Venetta Dyke (Watson), Priscilla Loder (Eugene) and Margaret Clouter (Gerald); grandson Gary Loder (Marie), with whom she resided; also 17 other grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister: Priscilla Price (Clarence); also a circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at St. Michael`s Anglican Church, Hillview. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 1998 from St. Michael`s Anglican Church, Hillview. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery. Clayton Parsons officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; sons: Fred (wife Ida), Brampton, ON and Ernie (wife Nena), San Jose, California; daughters: Betty Winsor (husband Peter), with whom she resided, Joan Whitten (husband Leonard), St. John`s, Eva Jones (husband Alfred), Clarenville; sons-in-law: Gordon Clarke and Alfred Gill; fourteen loving grandchildren and ten beloved great-grandchildren. Passed peacefully away on Friday, August 28, 1998, at her home in Heart`s Delight, in the presence of her loving and devoted family, husband Pleamon; sons: Gerald (Norma), Chesley (Janet) and daughters: Paulette Cumby (John) and Gloria Short (Lloyd); a very special and cherished grandmother of Peter (Nicolle), Robert (Patti), Karen, Keith, Jill, Amy, Melanee, Ryan, Kerri and Jessica; also lovingly remembered by a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Resting at Bethel United Church, Heart`s Delight from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Heart`s Delight. Jennie Burton, aged 86 years, having lived a life of dignity, grace and courage. Predeceased by her first husband Theodorus Laurentius, and her second husband Thomas Burton; also her parents, Alberto and Hester Wareham; her brothers: Ralph, Frank and Freeman; and sister Verna. Lovingly remembered by son and daughter-in-law Ted Laurentius and Karen Giannou in St. John`s; grandchildren: Ted and Erica Laurentius in St. John`s, sister Iris (Jack) Dicks in Halifax and Ada Tucker in Clarenville; sisters-in-law: Alice (Percy) Wareham in Harbour Grace and Mae Wareham in Arnold`s Cove; also a large number of family and friends. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Madeline; three sons: John (wife Helen), Baie Verte, Nfld., David (wife Donna), Kitchener, Ont., Dennis (wife Bernadette), Kitimit, B.C.; five daughters: Betty, Waterloo, Ont., Irene (husband Patrick Whalen), Hearts Desire, Nfld., Patricia (husband Joe LeCour), Wabush, Labrador, Jean (husband Derek Green), Winterton, Nfld., Audrey (husband Gary Groves) Oakville, Ont.; one sister Stella Yetman, Cape Cod, U.S.A; two brothers: Lawrence Clarke, Hearts Desire, Nfld., David Clarke, Kelligrews, Nfld.; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Margaret and Andrew Clarke. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Sacred Heart Mortuary Chapel, Hearts Desire. Visitation hours are from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. daily. DEWLING, Mary Belinda (nee Walters) - Sept. 25th, 1905 - Nov. 11th, 1998. It is with deep regret and sadness that the family of the late Mrs. Mary Belinda Dewling announce her passing at the Interfaith Home for Senior Citizens, Corner Brook, on Wednesday, November 11th, 1998 at the age of 93 years. She will be sadly missed with fond and loving memories by her family; her son Ronald (Dorothy), residing at Grand Falls Windsor; and her daughters: Doris (Karl), residing at Corner Brook and Barbara (Stanley), residing at Trinity, Trinity Bay; stepson Norman (Madeline), Toronto; step-daughters: Annabelle, Montreal and Marjorie, New Jersey; sisters: Winnifred, Calgary, Sadie (Eddie), Prince Albert, Sask.; daughters-in-law: Joan, North Bay and Shirley, Montreal; sons-in-law: Cecil, Montreal and Mike, Trepassey; 40 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. She will be also missed by a large circle of nephews, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald in 1963; her sons: Bob 1989, Joe 1997 and Jim 1998; her daughters: Nellie 1984, Velma and Mary 1990; brothers: Norman and Elam; sisters: Ada, Alfreda, Hazel, Judy and Angelina; son-in-law Wilfred and daughter-in-law Eileen. Visitation will commence at St. Andrew`s Anglican Church, Trinity East, Trinity Bay on Friday afternoon from where the Funeral Service will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Gillam officiating. The interment will take place at the family plot at Trinity East. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral Mass will take place from St. Pius X Church on Monday, May 25, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the family plot in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
