HALLIDAY, John T. - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, aged 85 years. Leaving to mourn wife Mabel; son Clayton (Effie); three grandchildren Kelly, Christopher and Travis; four sisters Janet, Florence, Elsie and Minnie. Many other relatives and friends. Resting at Hopkin`s Funeral Home, Old Perlican. Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 11 from United Church, Caplin Cove. HARNUM, Serena Elizabeth (nee Follett) - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, November 5, 2001, Mrs. Serena Harnum of Winterton, age 81 years. Predeceased by husband Herbert; son Raymond; and sister Lydia Hounsell. Leaving to mourn two daughters: Ann (Frank Pinhorn), Topsail, Maude (Reg Powers), Winterton; one son Frank (Sylvia), Winterton; one daughter-in-law Betty Harnum, Victoria, C.B.; eight grandsons, six granddaughters and thirteen great-grandchildren; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Green`s Funeral Home, Winterton. Funeral Service to take place on Thursday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. from Trinity United Church, Winterton. HARTLEY, Piercey - 75, of Monmouth Junction, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at his residence. Born in Winterton, Newfoundland, he was a resident of Monmouth Junction for 50 years. He was employed by IBM in Dayton as a machinist for over 25 years. He was a past master of Hightstown Apollo Lodge #41 F.A.M., a member of Crescent Temple A.A.O.M.N.S. and a member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Trenton. Husband of the late Elenora. He is survived by two daughters: Anna E. Piercey of Monmouth Junction, and Norma D. Johnson (Colin) of Winter Park, FL; one brother Peter Piercey (Barbara) of Vancouver; two sisters: Leah Andrews of Mount Pearl and Eva Piercey of Winterton, Nfld.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service is planned for Monday, April 9, 2001 in Monmouth Junction, NJ.

HENNESSEY, Annie Mae (nee Power) - Passed peacefully away on June 25th at the Carbonear Hospital, in the presence of her family, Annie Mae Hennessey, Bayview Lodge, Whiteway, formerly of Low Point, in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband John (1983); infant daughter Bridget; and brothers James and Domonic Power. Left to mourn her passing, son James (Hannah), Mt. Pearl; daughters: Eileen, Foxtrap, Anastasia (Bruce Power), Toronto, Ont., and Catherine (Clarence Doyle), Labrador City; two step-sons: Patrick, Caplin Cove and Thomas, Low Point. Also left to mourn, 8 grandchildren: Patti-Ann (Des Martin), Sherri-Lynn (Steve), Corey (Liley), Jason, Tina and Jennifer Doyle, Michelle and Denise Power; as well as a large circle of friends and relatives. Remains resting at Hopkins Funeral Home in Old Perlican. Visitation hours: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. Monday; 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Tuesday; 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral to take place from St. Anns R.C. Church in Low Point on Wednesday, June 27th at 1:30 p.m. Interment at the R.C. Cemetery in Low Point. Flowers gratefully accepted.

Predeceased by husband Cyril (1984). Leaving to mourn one daughter Monica McBride (Jeff); eight sons: Dave (Donna), Alexander, John (Valerie), Raymond (Brenda), Frank (Betty), Richard (Beverly), Cyril (Deidra), Steven (Lori); twenty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn sister Lillian Power, brothers Ray Hall and John Hall; brother-in-law Alexander Hepditch. Visitation at Holloway`s Funeral Home, Whitbourne. Funeral mass will take place at St. Alphonsus Church, Whitbourne, Thursday, November 29th, at 1:00 p.m. Interment in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Whitbourne.

Thirty-one grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren, a large number of relatives and friends. Resting at St. Aidens Anglican Church, Port Blandford. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday from St. Aidens with interment to follow at St. Aiden`s Anglican Cemetery, Port Blandford. In her memory a memorial fund to Dr. G.B. HOPKINS, Fred - Passed away suddenly at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, July 7, 2001, Mr. Fred Hopkins, Brownsdale, age 78 years. Predeceased by parents, Eli and Sarah Jane Hopkins and sister, Clara Matthews. Left to mourn his loving wife Mary, one daughter Judy (Clarence) King, Hant`s Harbour, two grandchildren: Amy King, Hant`s Harbour and Dr. Roger King, Alberta; two sisters: Annie Hopkins, Brownsdale and Ruby (Melvin) Riggs, Brownsdale; two brothers: Abe (Josie) Hopkins, Lower Island Cove and Sterling (Lizzie) Hopkins, Brownsdale; mother-in-law Annie Beckett, Old Perlican and a wide circle of other special family members and friends. Rev. Penny Postlethwaite conducted the funeral service on Monday, July 9 at the United Church and Cemetery, Brownsdale. Funeral arrangements were directed by Hopkins Funeral Home, Old Perlican.

Predeceased by his parents, Helen and Peter Hoskins; 3 brothers: Andy, Tom and John; sister Francis Lynch. Leaving to mourn his wife of 50 years, Leonora; four sons: Thomas (Ann), Vincent (Jennifer), Karl (Tracey) and Leon (Sherri); three daughters: Helen Coffin (Leo), Louisa Smith (Jim) and Josephine Reid (John); 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue, Trinity Bay, from where the Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 16, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Patel and the staff of the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex for their dedication and support.

Left with fond and loving memories, his wife Ruby Stanley of 31 years; mother Margaret Smith of Clarenville; son Dale Ivany of George`s Brook; sisters Mary Smith of Gooseberry Cove, Cecilia Smith of Clarenville, Pauline Hynes (Barry) of Clarenville; sister-in-law Tina Smith; brother Lewis Seward (Janet) of Ottawa; one grandchild Bradley; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains will be resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home in Clarenville. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place from St. Thomas Anglican Church, Military Road, on Saturday, December 29, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
