ABBOTT, Mildred (Nee Lane, Young) 1940 - 2001- Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Aug. 26, 2001, Mildred (Lane, Young) Abbott. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Leaving to mourn her husband John, Six sons Leander (Toronto), Leo (Sault Ste. Marie), Mike (Nova Scotia), Larry (Michelle), Loderick (Sonia), Leroy (Tracey) all at St. John`s. Six daughters: Lovlett (Ed), Tressalon, Ont. Luanne Collins, New Harbour, Lydia Brown (Sam), Linda Whelan (Eddy), Louise (Mike), Lorna (Billy) all at St. John`s. One Step-daughter Belinda (Tommy) and two grandchildren, Bonavista. Also, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three sisters Minnie (Gord Ivey), Goulds, Emily (Rex Hicks), Musgrave Harbour and Gloria (Gord Hidgon), Kilbride and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. Visitations Monday from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Tuesday 10:00 am - 10:00 pm. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm from Caul`s Chapel. Cremation to follow. Flowers greatfully accepted or a donation maybe made in her name to Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre or the Kidney Foundation.

Predeceased by mother Jessie, father Simeon, brothers Claude and Andrew, sister Edith Cooper and nieces Edith and Jessie. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Myra (Frost) Adey of 69 years; sons Donald (Brenda), Gander, and Lewis (Inez), Clarenville; nieces Priscella, Frances and Ivy; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a large number of relatives and friends. AVERY, Chesley - Passed away suddenly at his residence in Southport on January 26, 2001 in his 79th year, Chesley Avery. Predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Tippett (1999), granddaughter Emily (2000). Left with fond and loving memories, his wife Daphne of 32 years. Two daughters, Shelly Littlejohn (Norman), Coley`s Point, Susette Peddle (Tracy), Clarenville. Two brothers, William (Myra) and Wilfred, both of Southport; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains will be resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Little Heart`s Ease. Funeral 2 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2001 from Bethany United Church, Southport, with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Southport. In his memory, memorials may be given to the Dr. G.B. Cross Hospital CAT Scan Fund.

BARNES, Marie (nee Spencer) - On March 20, 2001, Marie passed peacefully away surrounded and supported by her loving family after courageously living with Diabetes and kidney dialysis. Predeceased by her parents: Edward (Ned) and Daisy Spencer (nee Sellars); sister Laura Slade; brother Edward (Bud) Spencer. Leaving to mourn devoted friend and husband Cecil J.; daughters: Evelyn (Roy Stockley), Lorna (Carter Lee), N.S., Anne, Daisy (Fred Essery), B.C.; son Spencer J. (Ingrid Vebree); 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Also leaving a large circle of Barnes and Spencer relatives and many friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Friday, March 23, 2001 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. A Service of Thanksgiving for her life will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church on Saturday, March 24, 2001 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.
