Son of Daniel and Elizabeth Scanlon of 258 Everett Street East, Boston, USA

David Scanlan was born in St. John's, Newfoundland on 12 April 1898 to Daniel Scanlan Jr. [6 Oct 1862] and Elizabeth Ann Walsh Scanlan [16 Sep 1873].
Daniel was born in St. John's, the son of Daniel Scanlan Sr. and Katherine Gibbons Scanlan.
Elizabeth Ann Walsh Scanlan was born in Tilt Cove to William J. Walsh of St. John's and Jane(Johannah) Angell [24 April 1840] from Petty Harbour.

Daniel Scanlan Jr. was presumed drowned 14 March 1918 while aboard the Batiscan [131314], which was presumed torpedoed by a U-boat between Louisburg, Nova Scotia and St. John, New Brunswick.
Elizabeth Scanlan died 29 February 1956 in East Boston, Ma.
Jane Angell Walsh died 27 April 1928 at 382 Summer St., East Boston, Ma.
David's brother Patrick was born 8 July 1896 and died 9 March 1897.
Another brother, John J. [my maternal grandfather] was born 1 January 1901. He died 4 Oct. 1989 in Lowell, Ma.
A final brother, William(Willie) was born 4 August 1902. He died of TB 4 August 1919.
Mary Hilda was born 14 January 1905. She died in her eighties in California.
Elizabeth [Lil] was born 29 November 1908. She died in January of 1993 in Everett, Ma.
Jean was born 31 August 1908. She died 13 May 1919 of TB.

When David died in France his parents were residing in St. John's, Newfoundland. She, Hilda, and Lil moved to East Boston to join John, who had set up an apartment there. They lived at 35 Barter's Hill in 1915
