Robert was born in King's Cove, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland.
He enlisted on 28 May 1915 and was discharged on 14 September 1918.

Robert Gill Brown was my Great Uncle.

The original bible that was carried through the first
and second world wars by first the father then the son.

Father Robert Gill Brown B 1891 -- D 1971
Son Garland Gill Brown B 1919 -- D 2005

The inscription on bottom of second page reads

May God Bless you my son and bring you safe
home to us again and may this book help
you as it helped me in the Great War of 1914

Your loving Father

After the first world war Uncle Gill worked with Lt Col T Nangle on repatriation efforts of NFLD soldiers who died overseas.
