VEY, Malcolm - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, February 3, 1999, Malcolm H. Vey of Hodges Cove, aged 87 years. Predeceased by wife Rosanna, 1998. Leaving to mourn two sons: Lester (Ivy), Goulds and Alex (Karen), South Korea; one daughter Myra (Levi Churchill), Hodges Cove; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mary Ann Smith, Susie Parsons, both of St. John`s and Ethel (Cyril Thomas), Hodges Cove and a circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at St. Mary`s Anglican Church, Hodges Cove. Funeral 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 1999 from St. Mary`s Anglican Church, Hodges Cove. Interment at Anglican Cemetery, Hodges Cove. No flowers by request. Donation may be made to the Hodges Cove-Caplin Cove Lions Club Hospital Bed Fund.

WARREN, Nathan Isaac - Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his family, at the Carbonear General Hospital, on Wednesday, September 15, 1999, Nathan Warren of Dildo, aged 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, wife Florence of 65 years; seven children: Minnie Collier, Effie Frost, Eldridge (Lillian), Maxwell (Marina), Marie Ineson, Gerald (Shirley), Lillian Lockyer; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two sisters: Gladys Temple (Jacob) and Elizabeth Jones; also loving remembered by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Resting at Warren`s Funeral Home, Dildo. The funeral service will be held from All Saints Church, Dildo, on Friday, September 17 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow All Saints Cemetery, Dildo.

WATTS Cindy J., - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, November 1st, 1999, Cindy Watts of Shoal Harbour, age 33 years, formerly of Rocky Harbour. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband, Howard Ellsworth, of 8 years; one son Lucas Ellsworth; her parents George and Marion Watts, Rocky Harbour; father and mother-in-law Rendell and Yula Ellsworth, Rocky Harbour; one brother Frank, wife Dianne, Whitby, ON; two nieces: Kassidy and Katelyn; grandparents Clarke and Catherine Shears, Pickering, Ontario, Elizabeth Watts, Rocky Harbour; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2nd, then at Fillatre`s Funeral Home, Rocky Harbour at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. on Thursday from Wesley United Church, Rocky Harbour. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Rocky Harbour. In her memory, donations may be given to the Lucas Ellsworth Educational Trust Fund.

WHALEN, Charles Lench - Prominent watch maker and jeweler. Member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Terra Nova Council 1492. Passed peacefully away, in the presence of his loving family, at the age of 68 years, at the Health Sciences Centre, May 6th, 1999. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife and best friend of 48 years, Elizabeth (Betty nee Finch); four adoring daughters: Cathy (David) Levesque, Ottawa, Jeanette (Keith, deceased) Clarke, Pickering, Tish (Ken) Tobin, St. John`s, Charlene (Gord) Pike, Mount Pearl; four cherished grandchildren: Christopher and Ashley Tobin, Kerry Pike, Jacqueline Clarke; one sister Della (Bob) Forward, Dildo; two brothers: Doug (Carolynne) Rees, Calgary, Lloyd (Daphne) Rees, St. John`s; special sister-in-law Eileen Finch, St. John`s. Also left to cherish his memory, many relatives and close friends. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd., Saturday and Sunday, May 8th - 9th, 1999 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place from St. Teresa`s Church, Mundy Pond Rd., Monday, May 10th, 1999 at 9:30 a.m. to be followed by cremation. Private inurnment to take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one`s choice.

WHITE, Maxwell T. - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center, Sunday, March 14, 1999. Maxwell T. White, age 74 years. Formerly of Catalina, and former employee of Eaststeel Industries. Leaving to mourn his niece Mary Lou Malone, with whom he resided; brother-in-law Roy Ash (Monica); nephews: Rex Reid (Margaret), Ian Ash (Christine); and niece Glenys Taylor (Robert); and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., 7 p.m. -10 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 a.m. - 12 noon Wednesday. Funeral Service to be held Wednesday, March 17, 1999 at 2 p.m. from St. Michael`s And All Angels Church. Interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to St. Michael`s And All Angels Church.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Linda; two sons: Selby (Joy), Robinson`s Bight and Christopher (Denise), Fort St. John, BC; one daughter Valerie (Gabriel), White Horse, Yukon; three grandchildren; mother-in-law Myrtle Taylor, Oxford Mills, ON; two brothers: William (Geraldine), Clarenville and Archibald (Alma), Burgoynes Cove; three sisters: Elizabeth Short, Clarenville, Minnie Hayter, Trinity and Daisy Sutton, Georges Brook; and a circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville and at St. Mary`s Anglican Church, Burgoynes Cove after 3:00 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 1999 from St. Mary`s Anglican Church, Burgoynes Cove. Interment at Anglican Cemetery, Burgoynes Cove.

WISEMAN, Minnie F. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, August 25th, 1999, Minnie Wiseman of Dildo, aged 80 years. Predeceased by daughter Bernice; son Derrick; two brothers: John and Cyril. Leaving to mourn husband Wentworth; six sons, four daughters and their spouses; 31 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Lily; a large number of other relatives and many friends. Resting at Warren`s Funeral Home, Dildo. The Funeral Service will be held from Zion Pentecostal Church, New Harbour on Saturday, August 28th at 2 p.m. Interment to follow, Pentecostal Cemetery, New Harbour. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in her memory gratefully accepted to the Pentecostal Senior Citizens Home, Clarkes Beach.

YOUNG, Elizabeth Jean - Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Home on Jan. 29th, 1999 Mrs. Elizabeth Jean Young (Smith), age 84 years. Leaving to mourn daughter Sylvia (husband Max Downey); two special grandsons, Daryl, Calgary, Alta. and Paul, Oakville, Ont.; one sister Lilly Piercey of Heart`s Content; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors and friends at Barrett`s Funeral Home from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31st. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 1st in the Chapel at Barrett`s Funeral Home. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. At Lizzie`s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner`s Hospitals for Orthopaedic and Burned Children.
