HARNUM, Kenneth Mendel - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on July 16, 2005, in the presence of his loving family, Kenneth Harnum, age 80 years. Predeceased by his parents, Ken and Mae (LeDrew) Harnum, his wife Doris, partner Augusta Rose, brother David, brother-in-law Ches Rogers and daughter Karen (Harnum) Lono. Leaving to mourn his son Robin, granddaughters Gemma Field (England) and Bianca Lono (Toronto), sisters Betty Rogers and Marilyn (Ken) Green of St. John's, sister-in-law Nita Harnum of Heart's Delight, his very special friend Joan Field and their families. Cremation has taken place. Visitation is being held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Monday, July 18, 2005 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial Service to take place on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. from St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Westerland Rd. Inurnment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. HARRIS, Dorothy H. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, January 27, 2005, Dorothy H. Harris of Port de Grave, formerly of New Chelsea, age 84 years. Predeceased by husband William; daughter Evelyn and great-grandson Kolby Rideout. Leaving to mourn three daughters: Hazel (Robert) Gillard, Pickering, ON, Robena (Mac) Jennings, Brampton, ON and Nellie (David) Porter, Port de Grave; three sons: Newman (Vella), Summerford, Raynor (Shirley), Little Burnt Bay and Hayward (Rosemary), St. John's; fourteen grandchildren: Lornell, Nerissa, Corey, Cristina, Robinlyn, Gary, Geoffrey, Ladonna, Colin, Hazel, Jennifer, Rayanne, Christopher and Tegan; fifteen great-grandchildren: Matthew, Marcus, Brianna, Joshua, Caleb, Faith, Tanisha, Nicholas, Melanie, Nathan, Aaron, Emily, Damian, Aiapay and Amber; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at the Pentecostal Tabernacle, Port de Grave, until 12:00 noon Sunday, January 30. Funeral service to follow on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Pentecostal Cemetery, Port de Grave. HISCOCK, Irene Florence (nee House) - Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex in the presence of family members on Monday, November 7th, 2005, age 89 years. Predeceased by her husband Robert and brother Edward. Left with many warm memories are her three children: Nancy Lundrigan of Upper Gullies, Patricia Stagg (John) of Little Catalina, and Robert (Carol) of Mira, N.S.; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Rested at Strathie's Funeral Home in Catalina. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Nov.10th, 2005 at 2 P.M. from St. Peter's Church and Cemetery, Catalina. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of NL.

HOPKINS, William John (Jack) - June 29, 1923 - July 24, 2005. Passed peacefully away in his own home on Sunday, July 24, 2005, William John (Jack) Hopkins of Green's Harbour, aged 82 years. Predeceased by beloved wife, Patricia Jane; Parents: Albert and Agnes; brothers: Albert and Archibald; sister: Winnie; brother-in-law: Raymond Pretty. Leaving to mourn five sons and two daughters: Agnes (Roy), Nova Scotia, Victor (Marilyn), Nova Scotia, Winnie (Don), Wabush, John (Beverly), Alberta, Nial (Michelle), Tilton, Robert (Karen), Clarenville, Peter (Kathleen), Green's Harbour; one brother and two sisters: Joe (Florence), Green's Harbour, Cecily, Dildo, Nellie, Heart's Delight-Islington; sister-in-law: Louise, Green's Harbour; special friend: Bessie Hillier, Green's Harbour; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Also lovingly remembered by a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at Faith United Church, Green's Harbour from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27th, at 4:00 pm. Interment to follow at Faith United Church Cemetery, Green's Harbour. Predeceased by husband John Patrick and infant daughter, parents James and Ellen Pretty (Peddle). Sisters Susanna Warren-Smith, Elizabeth Reid, and Josephine Reid, parents-in-law Peter and Helen Hoskins, brothers-in-law William Hoskins, Thomas Hoskins, Andrew Hoskins, and sister-in-law Molly Lynch. Left with many cherished memories are her children, Jim (Donna), Seal Cove, C.B.S., Helen (Tony) Seymour, Baie Verte, Lorraine (Hartly) Smith, Norman's Cove, John (Cheryl), Churchill Falls, Mike (Rosalind), Labrador City, Pete (Joy), Torbay, Gerard (Miriam), Chance Cove, Dave (Helen) Arnold's Cove, Agnes (Ford) Allan, Spaniard's Bay, Floss (Gary) McCarthy, Labrador City, Donna (Gerald) Branton, Gander. JACKSON, Martha E. - April 22, 1920 - April 4, 2005. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, April 4, 2005, Martha Jackson of Cavendish, aged 84 years. Predeceased by husband Hubert 1996; parents: Thomas and Mary; step-father John. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories four sons: Clayton (Debbie), Cyril (Agnes), Douglas (Cindy), Mervin (Olive); nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Brian, Sean, Craig (Susan), Steven (Jenny), Dean, Lori, Robert and Curtis; one great-grandson Carter; sisters-in-law: Evangeline (Clayton), Vera (Eric) and Nettie Jackson; brother-in-law Malcolm Butt; also lovingly remembered by a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at Cavendish United Church until time of funeral which will be held on Wednesday, April 6 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow Cavendish United Church Cemetery. KELLAND, Charlotte Anne (Annie) - It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Charlotte Anne (Annie) Kelland, 91 years of age, born April 2, 1914 in Grate's Cove, Newfoundland, daughter of William J. and Cicely Ann Hodder. Her family celebrates the life of the woman who grew up in Grate's Cove, Trinity Bay. As a young woman, she met and married Aubrey Kelland and they came to settle in St. John's. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to all the family and will always be remembered for her plate pies, knitting, soups and interesting Newfoundland expressions, ie: "gizzgyin" and "hobbyin." She passed away peacefully in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Friday afternoon at the Queen Elizabeth II hospital May 13, 2005. Annie was predeceased by her loving husband Aubrey Kelland and her son Ralph. Annie is survived by her sisters Lizzie May of New Chelsea, Katherine Meadus of Grate's Cove, Margaret (Maggie) Holloway of Musgravetown, also survived by her children Irene (James) Johnson, Vivian Kelland, Aubrey Jr., Maisie (Jim) Rillie, Addison (Elizabeth) Kelland; daughter-in-law Carrie (Ralph) Kelland. Annie was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren, as well as to 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, 10 a.m.-noon. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 2 p.m. from Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.

KELLY, Annabelle - Passed peacefully away at Pentecostal Senior Citizens Home, Clarke's Beach on Sunday, March 13, 2005, Annabelle Kelly, formerly of Trinity, aged 92 years. Predeceased by husband William, son: Ronald, step-sisters: Mary Hewett and Nellie Johnson, step-brothers: Joseph Dewling, James Dewling, Bob Dewling and brother-in-law: James Campbell. Leaving to mourn sons: Warwick (Elizabeth), Edward (Joyce); daughter: Printzling (Kitchener) Hiscock; sister: Marjorie Campbell; step-sisters: Doris (Karl) Hunt, Barbara (Stanley) Bokey; step-sisters-in-law: Shirley Dewling and Joan Dewling; brother: Norman (Madeline) Dewling; step-brother: Ronald (Dorothy) Dewling; step-brothers-in-law: Michael Hewett and Cecil Johnson; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. And a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Clarke's Beach. Visitation Tuesday 2-5 pm, 7-9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 2:30 pm from St. Paul's Anglican Mortuary Chapel, Trinity. Interment in the St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Trinity. Leaving to mourn wife Lily, Hant's Hr.; four daughters: Edna Mahoney, Paradise, Jean (Melvin) Scott, Hagerstown, Maryland, Elizabeth (John) Blackwood, Mount Pearl and Margaret, Paradise; two sons: Arnold (Joyce) and Craig (Andrea) all of St. John's; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Don (Heartie), Hant's Hr.; four sisters: Gertrude King, Betty Legrow, Lillian (Lawrence) Green and Dorothy (Bernard) Hamer; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn four sons: Les (Jane); Lorne (Geneva); Gerald (Coralee); Clyde (Diane); six daughters: Lorraine (Herb) King; Frances; Madeline (Leonard) Marsh; Joan (Merv) Humber; Diane (Mike) Ryan; and Shirley (Bruce) Kenny. Twenty-Two Grandchildren and Three Great-Grand-Children; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service was held December 19th, 2005 at Church of Good Sheppard, Dunfeild Trinity Bay. Interment at Anglican Cemetery, Trinity, Trinity Bay. Arrangements entrusted to Warrens Funeral Home, Dildo, Trinity Bay.

KING, Captain William George - It is with great sadness that the family of Captain William George King of Hillview, T.B., age 77, announces his passing on Sunday, April 3, 2005, in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by parents Heber and Alice King; sisters: Florence and Nellie. Left to mourn his loving wife of 49 years, Lorraine; sons: Edward (Brenda), Wayne (Susan), Darren (Jennifer); daughters: Beverly Harris (Steve), Wendy Chaytor (Bruce Gorman); grandchildren: Jennifer, Melissa, Ashley, Jordan, Lori, Kirsten, Zachary and Chelsea; brothers: Bert, Gilbert, Gordon and Chesley; sister Olive. George also leaves to mourn a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fewer's Funeral Home. KULP, Daniel Scott (April 27, 1980 - September 25, 2005) - Died as the result of a tragic accident at Cape Spear, Daniel Kulp of Preston City, CT, age 25 years. Survived by his parents, Ken and Peggy (Fost) Kulp, brother Garrett and sister-in-law Julie, his grandfather Hedley Fost of Heart's Delight, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his grandmother Sadie Fost and his grandparents Garrett and Isabelle Kulp. Dan was a very special young man who loved Newfoundland and always considered himself a "Newfie" at heart. We would like to thank everyone who was involved with the search and the final recovery of his body, to the St. John's Regional Fire Dept., Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, Rovers Search and Rescue, Canadian Coast Guard and Parks Canada. We would like to extend a special thank you to Captain Mervyn Halvorsen and the Team of Salvation Army Special Services who were there and offered many acts of kindness and comfort to the family during this terrible tragedy. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Dan's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 21 Adam's Avenue, St. John's, NL, A1C 4Z1.
