George Edward Pike, Regt # 898, was the son of Nathaniel and Emma Pike
of Grand Falls, Newfoundland. George Pikewas a Lance Corporal when he fought and died at Beaumont Hamel, 1 July 1916. He was 33 years old. |

Front of Postcard # 1 | Stohs Camp July 14/ 15. Dear M?s Hann, your at hand will be writing in a few days or so. Hope you are well. Am fine myself, and enjoying the best of a good time. The grub we get now is much better. Roast every second day. Would like to drop in and see you all, just as us say for a short while. Am going up to Edinburgh for a week end next week. Was up last week and get 2 day c.c and a days pay. Shopped. Not bad for a few days sport. Regards to all you Geo. E. Pike |
