Force: Army Unit: Royal Newfoundland Regiment Honours and Awards: Military Medal Cemetery: BEAUMONT-HAMEL (NEWFOUNDLAND) MEMORIAL Somme, France London Gazette, 18th October, 1917 - Steenbeek In the attack on the enemy near Langemarck on 16th August, 1917, as company stretcher bearer, during the advance he showed great bravery and devotion to duty in bringing back wounded to the Dressing Station at Ruisseux Farm. He personally took charge of the company stretcher bearers and had all cases cleared very promptly.
