| Before John left Change Islands to go war he went around to all his family members and friends to shake their hands and to tell them that he would likely not be returning. All my mother and her Dad (Lewis, Uncle John's brother) knew was that he volunteered for something at the front about 2 or 3 weeks after he got there and was killed. John was the brother of Lewis LeDrew, Robert LeDrew and Winifred (LeDrew) Roberts. |
