| John Thomas Kennedy
of Harbour Grace, NL Born Oct.19, 1894 ~ Killed in Action on Oct. 4, 1918 Sson of Andrew & Martha Ann (Taylor) Kennedy Harbour Grace, NL. Tom moved to the USA where he enlisted in the US Army at Fort Slocum, NY He was 22 years, 5 mos of age He went overseas on Sept. 18, 1917 His assignments & transfers were: Co B 38 Inf to Aug. 14-17; MG CO 3 Bn 9 Inf to Jan. 8/18; Co A 5 MG Bn to Death... Pvt Apr 1/17; Pvt 1st cl Aug. 17/17; Corp July 2/18 Engagements: Ile-de-France; Aisne-Marne; Lorraine; Meuse-Argonne; St. Mihiel. In January 1919, Toms remains were returned to Harbour Grace for burial at the United Church Cemetery on Military Rd.
