| Stephen was born in Pilleys Island, Notre Dame Bay. He enlisted 12 Feb 1915 as a private in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. He embarked to Sulva Bay, Gallipoli, 13 Sep 1915. Was hospitalized for Frostbite, 20 Sep 1915. Rejoined the Regiment on 30 Mar 1916. He was wounded at Beaumont Hamel, 1 Jul 1916. Rejoined Regiment on 13 Dec 1916 and was killed in action on 6 Dec 1917 near Albert, France. |
