James Joseph Collins Regt # 567

James was born 16 Aug 1897, son of John Robert Collins and Elizabeth Collins of Jersey Side, Placentia, NL. He joined the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and was killed in action at the Battle of Monchy, 14 April 1917. He is listed on the Placentia Cenotaph together with his brother, Lt. Frank Peter Collins.

James is buried in the Beaumont-Hamel [Newfoundland] Memorial Cemetery, Somme, France.
