Louis Blanchard was born in Shallop Cove, Newfoundland. On 11 May 1918, at age
22, he enlisted in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. He embarked Folkeston,
26/10/18, from 2nd battallion, Royal Newfound Regiment, Hazley Down Camp,
Winchester to 1st battallion. Returned to battallion 1/5/19 after being hurt, and was discharged 16/07/1919 for demobilization. He fought in Belgum, France, Germany. On 21/09/21, he received two war medals, Victory Medal, and British War Medal. |
