James Atwill, brother of Duncan Atwill.

James Atwill, labourer, age 25 years 3 months, attested in St. John's with the First Newfoundland Regiment October 13, 1915. He was 5 feet and 5 3/4 inches tall. His regimental number was 1914.

Embarked St. John's train to Saint John NB Dec 18, 1915. Embarked Southampton Jun 14, 1916. Disembarked Rouen Jun 15. Joined battalion in field June 30. Killed in action July 1, 1916.
