French Shore Communitities

The term French Shore was given the area in Newfoundland that the French had fishing rights, but they were not legally allowed to settle (although they did), the area consist of the West Coast from approx. Cape Ray around the Great Northern Peninsula, to White Bay. In 1904 fishing rights were taken away from the French, but many settlers remained behind.
