Will of James Young from Newfoundland will books volume 14 page 578 probate
year 1929
In re DECEASED.
James Young.
This is the last will and testament of me James Young Fisherman Planter of
Twillingate, Colony of Newfoundland being of sound mind.
- I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.
- I do hereby appoint
Thomas G. W. Ashbourne my executor.
- I order my executor
to pay my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses.
- I give devise
and bequeath unto my son Lewis Young, after the death of
my wife and providing my son Lewis and his wife look after
me and my wife during the rest of our lifetime my house and land surrounding
it to be his forever.
- I give devise and bequeath my cellar to my sons Arthur
and Lewis Young share and share alike.
- I bequeath the land owned
by me up over the hill and measuring about one acre unto my three sons Lewis,
Arthur and Herbert share and share alike.
- Provided my wife does
not need to use it during her lifetime I leave my share in the Telephone
Company to be divided equally between my grandsons Harold, Arthur,
Clifford and Fred Young.
- Provided my wife does not need the money
that would come from the sale of my shares in the Twillingate Fire Insurance
Company I bequeath the same unto my sons, Lewis, Arthur, Herbert
and Joseph Young to be shared amongst them.
- I give unto my son
Herbert my watch and one herring net and the other herring
net is to be given to my son Lewis.
- In case of dispute
my executors decision will be final in all matters not mentioned in this
will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 19th day of March AD. 1927.

Signed published and declared by the testator James Young as and for his last
will and testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who
at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnesses.
