In re
GEORGE JAMES YOUNG.
DECEASED.
In the name of God Amen.
I, George James Young, General Merchant, of Heart's Content, Nfld. being advanced
in years, deem it expedient that I should, while possessing sound mind, memory,
and understanding, make this my last will and testament, touching such worldly
goods as it has pleased God to bless me with.
I therefore bequeath and dispose of the same as follows:-
To wit:-
- That all my lawful debts be paid by my executors.
- (a) To my son, John Jillard Young, I give that parcel of land, bounded on
the South by the property of Estate of S.S. Stentaford, on the North by the
right of way and the continuation of the same, on the East by Main Street,
and on the West by the waters of the harbor, together with the dwelling house
(now occupied by him) shop, and all other buildings erected thereon, and indicated
on diagram attached by (1) also, that piece of land, and the building thereon
/ indicated by (2) on the diagram (b) Also, my Gold Watch and chain.
- To my son George Ainley Young, I give,
A The dwelling house (now occupied by him) together with the land and buildings
pertaining to the same.
B That piece of land purchased by me from Mr. Aaron Cumby.
C That piece of land purchased by me from Mr. Augustus Budden.
d. The chair, that is known as "Jillards chair".
E. My Gold Watch.
F. The set of Books (encyclopedias & Dictionaries)
- To my son Maxwell Eugene Young, I give,
A. The dwelling house now occupied by me, together with the furniture (with
the exception of those pieces stated elsewhere) and, subject to the provision
contained in Section 5. Par. (a) together with the land and buildings pertaining
to the same.
B. That piece of land purchased by me from Mrs. Evan Pugh Sr.
C. That piece of land commonly called "the pond garden" and formerly owned
by the Estate of the late Thos. Young.
- To my daughter, Maud Maria Young, I bequeath:-
A. Her Bedroom, bedroom furniture, and other contents and necessaries) together
with the full and free use of the house with free access thereto, as long as
she remains single.
B. Bonds and shares as mentioned hereunder:
Public Ser. Elect. Co. $250.
United Towns Elect. Co. $250.
Printers & Pub. Co. $250.
Nfld. Gov. Bonds. $200.
Loan - Arch. Budden $200. & Int.
L.O.A. Bonds $ 70.
C. Sewing machine, large family Bible, and my good piano.
- To my daughter Lillian George, Bay Roberts, Nfld. I give:- Two hundred and
fifty dollars in cash. ($250.)
- To my daughter Louisa Butt, Bay Roberts, Nfld. I give:- Two hundred and
fifty dollars in cash. ($250.)
- To my Grandson, George James Young, I give my writing desk.
- I hereby direct and empower my executors to continue my business under the
name of C. J. Young & Son. (of which I am sole partner) until same can
be profitably liquidated.
- My business as before mentioned to be liquidated, and the proceeds of the
same to be divided equally (after all accounts, bequests, etc. have been paid)
between my four children, namely:- John Jillard Young, George Ainley Young,
Maxwell Eugene Young, and Maud Maria Young. all of Heart's Content, Nfld.
- I do hereby utterly disallow and revoke all and every other former will
and testament and bequests by me before made, and declare this only to be my
last will and testament, and I nominate and appoint my sons John Jillard Young,
and George Ainley Young, and my friend Frederick Anderson Esq., as executors
to this my last will and testament.
In witness to which I hereunto subscribe my hand and seal, declaring this to
be my last will and testament this twenty first day of July in the year of
Our Lord One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty Six.

for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed
our names thereto, in the presence of the said testator and of each other.
