Will of Andrew Edward Wright In re Andrew Wright deceased This is the last will and testament of me Andrew Edward Wright of St. John's, printer. I appoint my wife Ida Louisa Wright sold executrix of this my last will. I bequeath to my said wife my land and house situate at 117 Gower Street, St. John's. I bequeath all my household furniture and effects all monies in bank and elsewhere and all monies due to me on life insurance policies to my said wife. I direct that my business known as "The Times printing office" be sold and all the stock in trade machinery printing press book debts and other assets be realized and the proceeds thereof after payment of all just debts and demands be the property of my said wife. I bequeath all the residue of my estate, if any, to my said wife. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at St. John's this eighth day of March A.D. 1920. Andrew Wright. Signed published and declared by the testator as his last will and testament in our presence who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills.
They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written
by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor
presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list
the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book
in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing
most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.
We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be. |
