In re Patrick Woodford       deceased

Last Will and Testament of Patrick Emanuel Woodford Harbor Main, Newfoundland. I Patrick Emanuel Woodford of Hr Main, Newfoundland being of sound mind and understanding, do make this my last Will and Testament, revoking all former wills made by me, and in the event of my death do hereby bequeath and leave to my wife Bridget Woodford Harbor Main, Newfoundland, all that I possess to be hers and her heirs forever.

  1. My House and business, including stores and merchandise and all things contained therein, and all monies deposited in the Bank of Montreal.
  2. My Stables and cellars including, Horses, Cows, Sheep, Goats, Pigs, Hens, Hay, Cars, Carts, Carriages, Sleighs, Harness, and all things contained therein.
  3. All my fishing appliances including Motor Boats, traps, nets, ropes, anchors, stages, and all things for use in same.
  4. That parcel of land bounded on North by Barons land on East by road to Broad Cove, on South by road to Broad Cove, and on West by Nick Sullivans land.
  5. That parcel of land bounded on North by water of Conception Bay on South by road to Broad Cove and on East by John Woodford's land and on West by land in para. 4.
  6. That parcel of land bounded on North by Road to Broad Cove on East by John Woodford's land, and on South by John Woodford's land and West by Road to Broad Cove.
  7. That parcel of land, known as "Tadies Acre" and and bounded on North by Main Road to Chapels Cove, on East by foot of Look-out-hill on South by Edward Walls land, and on West by Nick Sullivans land.
  8. That parcel of land, known as the "Oats Meadow" and bounded on North by road to Cross Cove, on East by James Woodfords land, on South by James Woodfords land and on West by John Woodfords land.
  9. That parcel of land, known as Coadys Ridge and bounded on North by Dan Sullivans land, on East by local Road, on South by road, and on West by Ridge Road.
  10. That parcel of land known as "Haffeys Place" or "Corbetts Ridge," and bounded on North by Frank Hawco, on East by Mike Corbetts land, on South by John Walls land on West by Road.
  11. That parcel of land bounded on North by Dan Sullivans land on East by Ridge Road on South by Road and on West by Mary Ann Walls land. All land herein mentioned includes all crops growing on same, and all buildings and all farming appliances and material used for cultivating same. I do hereby appoint and nominate my wife Bridget Woodford, Hr Main, and my son Patrick Arlington Woodford Hr Main the executors of this my last Will and Testament.

Dated at Harbor Main this sixth day of September in the year of our Lord 1919. Given under my hand and seal this 6th day of September A.D.1919 and in the presence of us. P. E. Woodford. 1st witness John Woodford Hr Main Newfoundland. 2nd witness Albert Woodford.

Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills. They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.

We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be.
