Will of John S. Wiseman

Last Will and Testament of
John Wiseman of St. John's
Carpenter deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me John S. Wiseman of St. John's Newfoundland Carpenter. I give and bequeath to my son William John Wiseman the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150) and one watch and chain. To my son Silas George Wiseman I give $150.00 and a watch. To Archibald James Wiseman my son I give $100 (one hundred dollars and a watch. To Florence May Wiseman my daughter I give $100 (one hundred dollars) To my daughter Mary Jane Wiseman I give $100. The foregoing legacies are to be paid to each of my children upon each becoming of age. I direct my Executors to provide a suit of mourning for my sister Elizabeth Hobbs The rest residue and remainder of my property Estate and effects I give devise and bequeath for the use of my wife and direct my executors to pay her out of the same the sum of one hundred dollars per annum until the residue is exhausted. In case of the death or the remarriage of my wife before the same is exhausted I direct my executors to pay the said annuity equally among such of my children as are then under age and require support. And I hereby appoint Albert H. Martin of St. John's Commission Merchant and Thomas H. Nichols of St. John's aforesaid carpenter as executors of this my will. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand at St. John's aforesaid this thirtieth day of January A.D. 1896 and declare the foregoing to be my last will and Testament. (Sgd) John S. Wiseman. Signed published and declared by the said Testator in our presence who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other hereunto subscribe ourselves as witnesses (the same having been first read over and explained) (sgd) Isabella F. Nichols. (Sgd) William H. Horwood
