Will of James Winsor
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 495-496 probate year 1908

In re
      James Winsor          deceased.

      I James Winsor of Carbonear, Fisherman, Planter living at Carbonear all my life time to the present sixty nine years this 3rd day of January 1903.    declare this to be my last will and testament and desire it shall be taken as such I give and bequeath to my wife Theresa, the house I now reside in with all the land attached, as long as she shall live, and after her death to be equally divided between my two Sons. Wm Thomas and James Robert now living in Boston. The Furniture of the house to be given an equal share to all my family then living at my wifes death. I give and devise to my eldest son Francis, the south part of room, I formerly fished on myself at Indian Tickle Labrador consisting of one dwelling house, one fish store, and one fishing stage, also one caplin seine, two herring nets, and one fish trap. The fish trap I mean is now in charge of Edward Huggins care-taker now at Labrador, also mooreings and graplins belonging to the same trap I give the north part of my own Room I formerly fished on myself to my youngest son James Robert, consisting of one store and one fishing stage and the next two fishing rooms going north formerly used by Jacob Bartlett and Wm Richards to be equally divided between my two Daughters Anne Bartlett, and Mary Foster, and the next room north formerly used by my son Wm Thomas, I give & bequeath to him, the same consisting of one house and one stage. I give to my wife Theresa the middle stage between Francis and Robert, occupied by James Lang this past summer also trap and gear blonging, including trap boat I used myself this summer and one small fishing boat Two other traps one for Wm Thomas, and one for Robert, also trap now in charge of Jacob Bartlett to be given him, four fishing jacks to be divided amongst my children    I also give to Wm Thomas one caplin seine & lance bunts and two herring nets also the same to be given to Robert.    Should my wife marry again she forfeits all claim to anything I possess    I do nominate now and appoint George Winsor my nephew, to be my sole executor of this my last will and testament In testimony whereof I the testator have hereunto set my hand this 3rd day of January 1903 (sgd) James Winsor signed published & declared by the said Jas Winsor to be his last will & testament in the presence of these witnesses and in the presence of each other at his request have hereunto subscribed our names witness (sgd) Jas P. Guy (sgd) George W. Winsor (Sgd) Benjamin Winsor.
