Will of Thomas Williams
from Newfoundland will books volume 7 pages 68-69 probate year 1901

Last Will and Testament of
Thomas Williams of Bay Bulls
Fisherman deceased.

      In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Williams of Bay Bulls Cove, Fisherman. Being weak of body but of perfect memory thanks be given to God, calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make this my last will and testament that is to say First of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it, and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner, and as touching my worldly property wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life. I give and dispose of in the following manner. To my eldest son Joseph W. Williams of property on Main Road first division next to Dea's land. To Frederick Williams the next division of the same on Dea's side Barn on same land for Joe and Fred. To Thomas J. Williams next division on left bounded by Richard Getherall. To my son Daniel J. Williams next division on same side. To Joseph W. Williams land on Main Road adjoining John Furlongs. To Frederick Williams land on Scotts Hill. To Thomas J. Williams the kitchen garden. -

Waterside property to be divided between the four sons. Trap and all belongings to Daniel J. Williams when of age, and for the use of family while here. Horse, carriage, sleigh and cart to Dan when of age and for the use of family while here.
Divisions of house. The kitchen half and room over it for girls while single and furniture also while we need it. But Dans afterwards. The remaining half and houses attached for Daniel, and To Mary F. Williams the piano and one feather bed. To Louisa J. Williams one feather bed and sewing machine To Mary Esther Williams one feather bed.
In case of Dan dying before coming of age, all left to him with the exception of land on Main Road goes to next youngest son living. Land on Main Road divided equally between sons then living. I Thomas Williams do hereby give in charge to my eldest daughter Mary Esther Williams the care of children while under age. And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and annul all and every other testament by me in any other way before made. Rectifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In witness thereof hereunto set my hand this nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred. Signed pronounced and declared by Thomas x Williams as his last will and testament in the presence of all and in the presence of each other have hereunto signed our names. Signed Martin Williams William P. Ronayne.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Thomas Williams deceased
