Last Will and Testament of Edward Williams
late of Harbour Grace Fisherman.
This is to verify that by these presents that I Edward Williams of Harbour
Grace in the Island of Newfoundland Fisherman for and in consideration of the
good will and natural affection (and in use of sound mind) I do bear towards
the said parties to whom I am going to bequeath my property to I do and by
these presents doth give unto John Frederick Noel half of Dwelling House fronting
on Water Street and after whose decease to come to his son Walter Noel the
remaining half of the said house to belong when of age to the said John
F Noel's son William Henry Noel likewise the ground in rear of said house to be equally
divided between the said John F. Noel and Wm Henry Noel.
Also a piece of ground situated near Harvey Street and bounded as follows West
by Wm. Brown East by James Brag South by ?? Road and North by Harvey Street
to be equally divided between the aforesaid John F. Noel and his son Wm.
Henry Noel. The said William H. Noel to hold the west part of said ground -
And be it also known that a tenement house situated in rear of the House of
which I now occupy and the said tenement house of which I am the sole owner
and bounded as follows North by Thomas Hawkins South by my own land West by
an adjoining house owned by Stephen Williams and East by George
French also
a piece of ground in rear of said House the said Tenement House and ground
to be given to my nephew John Edward Williams "of Stephen" when of age.
Also a small piece of ground fronting Water Street and bounded east by Stephen
French of Geo. West by Geo. French North by Thomas
Hawkins and South by Water
Street to be given to William Henry Noel of John F. Noel. The said parties
of whom I have given such property to and outhouses thereon or in anywise belonging
to or appertaining together with all rights of passages and privileges thereunto
belonging to my Estate Given this instrument is upon the express condition
that myself and my beloved wife Martha are to have and enjoy the full use and
benefit of the whole Estate and premises and furniture belonging to me while
she lives and remains a widow bearing my name and not otherwise. And after
her decease to come to the said parties and not before.
Given under my hand and seal at Harbour Grace in the Island of Newfoundland
aforesaid this third day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight
hundred and Eighty two - Edward his X mark Williams - Signed Sealed and delivered
in presence of -Wm. Godden - N. Le??? Witness
