Last will and testament
of Samuel Wilcox
of Brigus Planter Deceased.
Brigus July 25th '89
This is to certify that I Samuel Wilcox Planter being of sound mind do make this my last will and testament revoking all other will by me made. First I will and bequeath unto my wife Eliza Wilcox and her daughter Fanny all my property consisting of dwelling house, stable and all the land and gardens that came to me through deed from Mrs. Charlotte Mercer also the water side store and property as long as Eliza Wilcox and Fanny Wilcox remain in my name should either one or both of them marry then the property above mentioned shall become the property of my son Moses and his children forever.
Second I will and bequeath unto my son Moses Wilcox the large new bible the quadrant and the navigation books belonging thereto (also the large clock after the above marriage of Eliza or death the clock to remain in the house never to be sold by either wife child, Fanny or son Moses.
Third I will that the horse cart, catamaran and all the horse tackling also the rope and any other property that is on the water side store be sold for the benefit of my wife Eliza and her daughter's support after paying my debts if any.
Fourth all the furniture now in the house not sold for the support of my wife Eliza and her child Fanny while they remain in my name or either of them marry shall become the property my son Moses and his children forever.
Fifth. All the property on Labrador consisting of boat and room be sold for the benefit of Eliza and Fanny her child.
Sixth I appoint as executor to this my last will and testament the following William A. Green and Henry Roberts Samuel his x mark Wilcox (L.S.) Witness William A. Green (L.S.) Moses Clarke (L.S.) Smauel his x mark Clark (L.S.)
I certify the foregoing a correct copy of the will of Samuel Wilcox.
