Last Will and Testament of
John White of Ferryland
Planter deceased.

      To whom it may concern In the name of God Amen. I John White of the village of Ferryland in the district of Ferryland in the Island of Newfoundland, Planter, being sick & weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I commend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

First I give and bequeath to my son Alfred the dwelling house in which we live together with shop, stores, flakes also the entire contents of each and every one together with the property on which they are erected. Also I give and bequeath to my said son Alfred the piece of land on the south side of Ferryland known as the Beach garden and that piece of land known as Howletts garden. Also I give and bequeath to my said son Alfred my pass book and all monies belonging to me deposited in the Govt Savings Bank St. John's (of which Edward Shea Esqr is manager) also I give and bequeath to my said son Alfred one half of all monies to my credit in the Union Bank at St. John's, the balance after all expenses funeral & other are paid is to be divided equally between my remaining sons and daughters. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 24th day of October in the year of our Lord 1893. (Sgd) John White. Witnessed by (sgd) Richd F. Sullivan. (Sgd) J. W. McCulloch M.D.
