Last will and Testament
of Margaret Whelan
of St. Mary's widow Deceased
.

This is the last will and testament of me Margaret Whelan of Saint Mary's Bay in the Island of Newfoundland widow I hereby revoke all wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this to be my last will and testament I appoint Peter Whelan and Edward Walsh Jnr. Executors of this my last will and direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. I give devise and bequeath unto my grandson the Reverend James Whelan and to my granddaughter Annie Whelan all that beach property situate in the Harbour of Saint Mary's aforesaid bounded on the north by the waters of the Harbour on the east by property of Edward Walsh on the south by a piece of water commonly known as the "Pond" and on the west by land of Patrick Walsh also all that piece or parcel of land situate near the court house in St. Mary's aforesaid bounded on the north by land of one Vale on the east by land of one Barry on the south by land of one Mahoney and on the west by a public road to hold the same to my said grandson and granddaughter for their own separate and absolute use and behoof in equal shares as tenants in common for ever. In witness whereof I the said Margaret Whelan have to this my last will and testament set my name by affixing my mark this sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lorded one thousand eight hundred and eight seven. Margaret her x mark Whelan Signed by the testatrix and acknowledged by her to be the last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names hereto as witnesses having first been read over and explained Witnesses present Edward Laughlin Michael Mahoney.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the will of Margaret Whelan.
