Last will and testament of
Patrick Walsh of Stock Cove, Bonavista Bay
Fisherman deceased.

In the name of God

This is the last will and testament of me Patrick Walsh of Stock Cove, Bonavista Bay. Firstly I give and bequeath to each of my three sons (Thomas, Andrew and Michael) four hundred dollars to be drawn from the Union Bank of Newfoundland. Secondly. I give and bequeath to my wife and daughter (Alice) two hundred dollars each to be drawn from the Union Bank of Newfoundland. Thirdly I leave forty dollars for Masses for myself when I am dead. Fourthly I leave and bequeath to my three sons (Thomas, Andrew and Michael) equal shares of all my stores, ground, waterside, cattle with the exception that my wife and daughter (Alice) have their part when living with them and must work for them and they (Thomas, Michael and Andrew) must help to support their stepmother and sister when they are living with each other, but if they (stepmother & sister) choose to leave them, they (Thomas Michael and Andrew) have it between them in equal shares. Fifthly I leave and bequeath to my two sons (Michael and Andrew) my dwelling house and nothing to be removed out of it. I declare this to be my last will and testament and I nominate and appoint Maurice Walsh to be my executor of this my will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Patrick Walsh have to this my last will and testament set my hand the fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety one. Signed by testator and acknowledged by his signature to be his last will and testament in the presence of us, present at the same time and subscribed by us in the presence of the said testator and of each other.
