PATRICK J. WALSH deceased.
In the name of God Amen I Patrick
J. Walsh of St. John’s of His Majesty’s Customs do
make publish and declare this as and for his last will and testament
First I direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be
paid
Second I give my wife Catherine
Walsh my leasehold land situate on Springdale Street with dwelling house
thereon together with the household goods furniture and effects therein
also all the rest of my goods moneys properties and effects to hold the
said land dwelling house goods furniture and effects moneys and properties
for life and after her death I give the said land dwelling house goods
furniture effects moneys and properties to my daughter Alice Jackman wife
of Edward M. Jackman for her own use free from the control of her husband
Third
I will and direct that the dwelling shall not be mortgaged nor the land
sublet during the lifetime of my wife but I desire that should my daughter
Alice Jackman at any time sell the said land and dwelling
house or any part thereof she shall devote one hundred dollars of the
proceeds thereof to having Masses said for the repose of my soul
Fourth.
Until such time as the said land and dwelling house shall be sold I direct
that my said daughter Alice Jackman shall cause a Mass to be said every
month for the repose of my soul and to be paid for out of the rent of
the said dwelling house and land.
Fifth I hereby nominate Edward M. Jackman of St. John’s Merchant to be the executor of this my will
Sixth I revoke all former wills made by me. Patrick
J. Walsh. Signed published and declared
by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in our presence
who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed
our hands as witnesses this 2nd day of January 1914. J.M.
