Will of Michael Walsh Last Will and Testament of In the name of God Amen I Michael Walsh resident of the Town of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland being of sound mind and memory through the goodness of Almighty God, being aware of the uncertainty of human life do make publish and declare this is my last will and Testament. With respect to my worldly estate I give bequeath and dispose of it in the following manner, after all my just and lawful debts are paid and discharged. Firstly I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Alice Walsh all my property in household furniture plate and wearing apparel. I do also give and bequeath to the said Alice Walsh my true and lawful wife all the money I may be owner of and also one dwelling house double tenement situated in East Street Marsh Hill and all and everything else which may be in my house at my decease: providing that the said Alice Walsh shall continue her life singly, that is my true widow, but in case that she wont lead a single and unmarried life after my decease I do give and bequeath all the aforementioned properties to the Roman Catholic Church for masses for my soul. And lastly I do nominate and appoint Mr. Patrick Carbery and Mr. James Carbery as the executors of this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy three. (Sgd) Michael Walsh. Witnesses (sgd) Patk.
