Will of Rev.John J Walsh from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 601-602 probate year 1891 Last will and testament Burin March 6th 1890. I John J. Walsh, Roman Catholic Clergyman of the parish of St. Lawrence in the Diocese of St. John's, Newfoundland, do hereby proclaim this to be my last will & Testament. 1st. That my desk & books are to go to my brother-in-law James Collins. 2ndly. My cows I bequeath to the nuns of the Sacred Heart Convent, St. Lawrence. 3rdly. The calf I bequeath to my niece Theresa Walsh. 4thly. I leave my horse to Isaac Quirk the little boy whom I adopted this Fall, on condition that he works for the nuns of St. Lawrence. 5thly. I bequeath my household property to be divided between my niece Theresa Walsh & Miss Burfitt. 6th. I bequeath to my sister Bridget Mrs. James Collins, my watch. ----- 7thly. I wish that my servants be paid their wages from the money now in my house & in the Savings Bank at St. John's. ---- 8th. I wish my body after death be buried in front of the Blessed Virgins altar in the Chapel of St. Lawrence for I wish it to rest amongst the people of whom I was so fond amongst the people who possessed my fondest affections.
