I John Walsh of Holyrood in the electoral district of Hr. Main hereby make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills made by me.

  • I appoint Philip J. Lewis executor of this my will.
  • I bequeath $150. to the Roman Catholic Church at Holyrood for the purpose of buying a statue in memory of the testator.
  • I bequeath twenty five dollars each to both Richard Walsh of Richard and Patrick Healey of John.
  • I bequeath the sum of two hundred dollars to Rose Kennedy of James and she is to distribute this money for masses for the repose of my soul and that of my wife Margaret Walsh.
  • I direct my executor to purchase a monument to be erected to the memory of my wife Margaret Walsh myself and two children Anastatia and Mary Ellen.
  • I devise my land on Salmonier Road to my son Alphonsus Walsh.
  • I bequeath the sum of seventy-five dollars to Cyril Gregory and John Walsh children of my son Alphonsus Walsh in equal shares.
  • I devise and bequeath to His Lordship the Bishop of Harbour Grace whosoever he may be at the date of my death my house, land, farm and all appurtenances as well as all furniture, farming implements and all my personal belongings contained in the said house and farm and cellar in trust for the parish of Holyrood the same to be sold as soon as possible after my death.

All the rest and residue of my property whether money or otherwise I bequeath to Rose Kennedy absolutely as a token of gratitude for her kindness to me.

Signed by the said testator as his last will and testament this 25th day of November A.D. 1928 in the presence of us both present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other signed our names as witnesses.
