      I James Walsh of Placentia Road do bequeath to my wife during her life my farm containing seventeen acres of land also the house on the farm I also bequeath to my wife one box cart and one pair of wheels one horse and one set of harness, four cows and one heifer one sheep and one pig and after my wifes death all is to be left to my son James. (Sgd) James his X mark Walsh Testator (sgd) Michael Treacy Executor. Witnesses (sgd) Michael his X mark Hayes. (Sgd) John his X mark Whiteway. Dated March 13^th in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine. St. John’s Newfoundland.
