Will of James Walsh from Newfoundland will books volume 5 pages 93-94 probate year 1886

The last will and Testament
of James Walsh of Saint
John's.

In the name of the Holy and undivided Trinity, the Father son and Holy Ghost. I James Walsh of Saint John's hereby make this my last will and Testament. I leave and bequeath to my beloved daughter Mary Francis Walsh all my right title and interest in and to the dwelling house and premises with garden and grounds now and for many years heretofore occupied owned and possessed by me and situate on the road to Quidi Vidi on the north side of the pond of that name together with all documents and title deeds pertaining thereto and with all the furniture and goods of every description contained within the said house and premises . The whole as I possessed them I leave and bequeath fully entirely and exclusively to the said Mary Francis Walsh my daughter aforesaid her heirs executors and assigns for ever. I leave and bequeath to my son James Walsh of Saint John's the sum of one hundred pounds currency. To my grandson James Frank Walsh now of Chicago the sum of seventy pounds currency and to the Lord Bishop of Saint John's Dr. Power the sum of twenty pounds to be appropriated for masses for my soul and the souls of my wife and family. After the payment of these amounts I leave and bequeath the residue of my monies now in the Newfoundland Savings Bank together with any balances which may be due or owing to me by the said Savings Bank or may be voted for me by the Legislative Council to my daughter aforesaid Mary Frances Walsh with the injunction and reservation that she shall pay out of the said residue money all such debts as I may lawfully owe, also all the expenses of every kind attending my illness death and burial. I hereby appoint the Hon. Edward Morris and John Howley Esq., to act as my administrators.
