The last Will of Ellen Walsh
late of St. John's, widow deceased.
This is the last will and Testament of me Ellen
Walsh of St. John's widow.
First. I will and direct that my house
on Military Road together with the land on which it stands and which is attached
thereto be sold after my death and the proceeds of such sale equally divided
amongst my five children namely Kate, Mary Ellen, Howard, William and
Thomas.
Second.
I will, devise and bequeath the land on Rawlins Cross together with the house
and shop thereon in which I now live unto my daughter Kate. My daughter Kate shall provide a comfortable home in her own house for my daughter Mary
Ellen until such time as my said daughter Mary Ellen shall marry and shall provide
a comfortable home in her own house for my son Howard until he shall come of
age.
Third. In case my said daughter Kate shall decide to sell the
said house and shop in which I now reside within two years from the day of
my death, then she shall out of the purchase money thereof pay to my son William one hundred dollars, to my son Thomas one hundred dollars to my daughter Mary
Ellen two hundred dollars and to my son Howard two hundred dollars.
Fourth.
I will and bequeath the household furniture, goods, chattels and effects of
every nature and kind of which I shall die possessed and particularly the Goodwill
and stock in trade and fittings of the shop in my house in Rawlins Cross to
my daughter Kate.
Fifth. After paying my debts and funeral and testamentary
expenses I will and bequeath the residue of my estate to my children share
and share alike Sixth. I appoint my daughter Kate sole executrix
of this my last will and Testament and guardian of my son Howard.

at St. John's this 10th day of December A.D. 1899. Ellen
Walsh. Signed published
and declared by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in
our presence who in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto
subscribed our names as witnesses. Herbert Knight Walter Morrissey

copy of the last will of Ellen Walsh
