Will of Margaret Tynan

Last Will of Margaret Tynan
late of St. John's, widow, deceased.

      In the name of God Amen. I Margaret Tynan, of St. John's, Widow, make this as and for my last will and Testament. After the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses I will devise and bequeath to my niece Ella Christopher, at present of St. John's, widow, the sum of one hundred dollars, to my cousin Eliza Howley, formerly of Topsail Road one hundred dollars, and to my godson and friend Terence Stafford two hundred dollars. I direct that my household goods furniture and chattels be sold and the proceeds handed over to the Lady Superiores of St. Michaels Convent Belvidere for the use of their orphanage
I give and bequeath to Thomas J. Murphy my solicitor my gold watch. All the rest and residue of my monies and property I give devise and bequeath to the Most Revd. Dr. Howley, Roman Catholic Bishop of St. John's, for the use of the Cathedral Church of the Roman Catholics in St. John's. In this bequest I annex a condition or request that twelve low masses be yearly offered up for the repose of the Souls of my parents John Murray and Ellen Murray and my own soul and the souls of my husband John Tynan and brother Thomas Murray.
I hereby revoke and annul all other and former wills and testaments by me made. I appoint His Revd the Most Rev. Dr. Howley Bishop of St. John's and Thos. J. Murphy of St. John's Solicitor executors of this my last will and Testament. M. Tynan. Margaret her x mark Tynan.
Signed, published and declared as and for her last will and testament by the testatrix Margaret Tynan on the 19th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety nine in presence of us, who in the presence of each other and of the testatrix and at her request sign as attesting witnesses (after the same had been read over by P. J. Scott to testatrix)
