Last Will and Testament of
George Tuffin of Carbonear
Planter deceased.
By the Grace of God Amen. I George
Tuffin of
Carbonear living in the Island of Newfoundland this eight day of February one
thousand eight hundred and ninety four declare this to be my will and Testament.
And that I have good right, full power to do with what I possess such as dwelling
houses, lands and other utensils that I have in my possession.
1st After my death my wife is to hold possession of every thing
that I possess, such as dwelling houses and lands and other utensils while
she is living her natural life.
2nd After her death all must be sold such as dwelling
houses, and lands and other utensils, and all funeral expenses to be paid out
of the proceeds first, and also expenses for Head stones for the said George
Tuffin and wife, and the remainder of the money to be equally divided
amongst my Three nieces Emily Howell and Anna L. Taylor and Elizabeth
Franks.
3rd But in the event of the death of either of the three nieces,
their heirs is to have their mothers part, and also if one should be left a
widow she is to have just what the executors of this will think just and right
to give her. (Sgd) George Tuffin (sgd) James P. Guy (sgd) William
T. Guy.
P.S. In addition to the former part of this will if my wife survive me she
is to have possession of what money I have in Montreal Bank St. John's and
other places. (Sgd) George Tuffin Carbonear Jany. 2/97. (Sgd) James
