Last will and Testament of
Jeremiah Torraville of Herring Neck
Planter deceased

      This is the last will and Testament of Jeremiah Torraville, Planter, Herring Neck in the Electoral district of Twillingate Newfoundland. I hereby give devise and bequeath to my eldest son Joseph, the land upon which his house now stands, including six feet towards my room, the whole of it in the direction of James Smart, the waterside frontage & the cove, the lower length of the potato garden & the grass garden in the Gut Arm & one herring net.
I give devise & bequeath to my son Benjamin the part of the room towards Robert Rice’s the half of the house he now occupies, part of the potato garden, the part of the meadow in Gut Arm, & part of the meadow up the road; both now respectively occupied by him, one herring net, half the stage, the old store house & sheep barn.
I give devise and bequeath to my youngest son Jeremiah, the half of the dwelling house now in my occupation, the whole of the remainder of my room, with buildings, stages & flakes lying between the aforesaid bequests to my two sons Joseph & Benjamin, the remaining portions of my gardens, meadows of my estate and effects both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever, and of what nature and quality soever and I hereby declare that the above bequests are to my sons Joseph, Benjamin & Jeremiah respectively to their heirs executors & administrators for their own use and benefit absolutely & forever, that they are never to go out of the family whilst there is a heir. I give devise & bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth my watch & bible: And I hereby appoint my Jeremiah the sole executor of this my will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this sixth day of November one thousand eight hundred and ninety five (sgd) Jeremiah his X mark Torraville. Signed by the said Jeremiah Torraville in the presence of us present at the same time, who, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, attest & subscribe our names as witnesses hereto. (Sgd) George S. Chamberlain Clerk in Holy orders. (Sgd) Robert Mundy, Agent

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Jeremiah Torraville deceased
