Last will and Testament
of Mary Tobin
of St. John's Widow Deceased
.

In the name of God Amen I Mary Tobin of Saint John's in the Island of Newfoundland widow of Thomas Tobin late of Her Majesty's Customs Saint John's aforesaid deceased, do make publish and declare this paper writing to be my last will and testament and I hereby annul and make void all former wills by me made or executed. First. I give devise and bequeath unto Saint Michaels Orphanage Belvidere for the use of the orphans therein the sum of two hundred dollars. Second I give devise and bequeath unto the Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John's for the time being the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars for Masses for the repose of my soul and the soul of my said late husband Thomas Tobin. Third I give devise and bequeath unto my niece Bridget Dooling at present in the United States of America the sum of three hundred and twenty dollars. Fourth I give devise and bequeath unto Mary Joseph Hanley and Margaret Hanley daughters of Richard Hanley of Saint John's aforesaid the sum of forty dollars each. Fifth. I give devise and bequeath unto Johanna Costello daughter of Matthew Costello the sum of sixty dollars. Sixth. I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Daniel Dooley of Belle Isle the sum of forty dollars. Seventh. I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Daniel Reddy of Bay of Islands the sum of forty dollars Eighth I give devise and bequeath unto the three daughters of Thomas Tobin the nephew of my late husband, the sum of forty dollars each. Ninth. I give devise and bequeath unto Thomas Tobin the nephew aforesaid of my said late husband all my right title and interest of in and to the dwelling house in which I at present reside. Tenth I give devise and bequeath unto the Reverend W. J. O'Brien of Saint John's aforesaid the sum of forth dollars for masses for the repose of my soul and the soul of my said late husband Thomas Tobin Eleventh I give devise and bequeath all household furniture I may die possessed of unto Thomas Tobin Bridget Poole and Bridget Keefe share and share alike. Twelfth. I give devise and severally bequeath all other property of every description (and not hereinbefore bequeathed) I may die possessed of unto the foregoing legatees under this my will, share and share alike. The money bequeathed under this my will being deposited in the savings Bank of Newfoundland. Thirteenth I hereby nominate and appoint Mr. Charles Poole executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at St. John's aforesaid this eighteenth day of April A.D. 1890 Mary her x mark Tobin (L.S.) Signed (by affixing her mark) sealed published and declared by the said Mary Tobin as and for her last will and testament in presence of us and each of us, who here, in her presence at her request and in presence of each other subscribed our names hereto as witnesses (being first read over and explained) M. J. O'Mara, R. J. Callanan.
