Will of Mary Tippett
from Newfoundland will books volume 7 page 116 probate year 1901

Last Will and Testament of
Mary Tippett of Coleys Point,
Bay Roberts, married woman deceased.

      I Mary Tippett of Coley's Pt, Bay Roberts in the Island of Newfoundland, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. And as to my worldly estate and all my property real, personal or mixed of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease. I devise bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following to wit: (The property which I am disposing of formerly belonged to my deceased father and I am the only surviving child, my mother being dead also) I give and bequeath to my beloved husband George Tippett all my household furniture, except one bed and bedding which I give and bequeath to my daughter Emily French Tippett. I also give to my husband, my dwelling house, outhouses, land and its appurtenances situated on the north side of Coley's Point & bounded on the west by the land of my uncle Amaziah French on the east by the land of my uncle Isaac French, on the south by the Neck Road and on the north by the water of the Harbour, to have and to hold all the same during the term of his natural life, but should my husband die before my daughter then half of all the said property must revert to my said daughter. But should my daughter die before my husband, then all the said property is to be his, his heirs and assigns. In witness whereof I the said Mary Tippett have to this my last will and testament, subscribed my name this the eight day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one (sgd) Mary her x mark Tippett. Signed sealed published and declared by the said Mary Tippett as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us, who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto. Witnesses (sgd) Stephen French (sgd) George his x mark Greenland (sgd) Jas. Norman.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Mary Tippett deceased
