Will of Amy Sweetland from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 222-223 probate year 1928

In re      .       DECEASED.
AMY SWEETLAND

This is the last will and testament of me, Amy Sweetland of Bonavista, in the district of Bonavista in the island of Newfoundland, wife of William Sweetland, Trader.
I give and bequeath to my niece Agnes Templeman, my glass water set with tray, my gold ring and my gold chain.
I give and bequeath to my sisters who may be alive at time of my decease all my wearing apparel to be equally divided between them.
I give and bequeath to my son Tobias Templeman - my son by my marriage with Arthur Templeman, who at present resides in Boston Mass. All my household furniture with the proviso that if he wishes to sell it my husband William Sweetland is to have the first offer of it.
I further bequeath to my son Tobias Templeman my two potato gardens the one situate between garden belonging to Mary Ann Templeman and one belonging to Samuel Templeman, the other situate between land owned of Heber Templeman and land owned by Mary A. Templeman with the proviso that if Tobias Templeman wishes to sell these gardens the family of my late husband, Arthur Templeman is to have refusal of same.
I also give and bequeath to my son Tobias Templeman four shares in the Standard Manufacturing Company of St. John's, these shares are at present held in name of my husband William Sweetland and represent the sum of two hundred and twenty dollars - $220.00
Lastly I give & bequeath to my son the aforesaid Tobias Templeman, my watch together with all effects goods or money which may be in my possession or which may belong or be due to me at the time of my decease, and not hereinbefore enumerated.
And I appoint Mr. John Roper Stipendiary Magistrate Bonavista to be the sole executer of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I the Testatrix have set my hand this second day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven - 1911.

Signed published and declared by the said Amy Sweetland to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses day and date as above.

Codicil.
      Owing to the death of Mr. John Roper late magistrate of Bonavista I hereby constitute and appoint Mr. John S. Rowsell magistrate to be the sole executor of this my last will and testament.

We hereby subscribe our names as witnesses this 21st day of August one thousand nine hundred and twenty four.
