Will of Jeremiah Sullivan
from Newfoundland will books volume 7 page 142 probate year 1902

Last Will and Testament of
Jeremiah Sullivan of Kings Cove
Fisherman deceased.

      Last will and Testament of Jeremiah Sullivan. In the name of God Amen I Jeremiah Sullivan (of James) of the District of Kings Cove Bonavista Bay, in the Island of Newfoundland being of sound and disposing mind do hereby make this my last will and testament.
First I commend my soul to God and my body to be interred at the discretion of my friends and relatives. As to for and concerning whatsoever of worldly goods property etc I die possessed of I give and bequeath in the following manner.
2nd That my seven sons John James Edward Peter Jeremiah Thomas shall possess an equal share in all my property and that my son William shall possess two such shares in said property.
3rd. That in the event of either of my sons leaving and going away, and being absent for a period not less than ten years he shall forfeit his right to and share in said property to be distributed in favour of the others (my sons)
4th. That my wife Caroline be recognized and obeyed as rightful mistress of their and her house now in course of erection and situated opposite Mr. Patrick Murphy's residence.
5th I will that my children Caroline and Mary must be supported by sons before mentioned and that they have an equal right to live and their my sons house as their home and always regard it as the home until they choose to do otherwise.
Signed and delivered on this twenty day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three, in the presence of us who hereunto set our names. (Sgd) Jeremiah his x mark Sullivan. Witness (sgd) John his x mark Devine. (Sgd) James x Sullivan (of Edward)

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Jeremiah Sullivan deceased
